BeoCom 1 offers both intelligent and elegant communication. The eye-catching appearance mirrors the level of innovation that has gone into BeoCom 1's design. It's a complete digital phone system made easy. With up to eight handsets sharing a single base, you can use BeoCom 1 to create a totally cordless telephone system. Internal calls are free, and all the handsets have access to the same built-in electronic phonebook, which stores up to 200 entries. BeoCom 1 will also remember the details of the last 24 incoming and outgoing calls. This feature, together with Caller ID and the Redial function, makes keeping in touch easy with just the touch of a button. Please note this package is not compatible with the BeoCom 6000 phone system.

The innovative wheel control is the natural focal point of the BeoCom 1 handset and the key to the operation of the telephone. All the primary functions are carried out using the wheel and the keys that surround it, and it will also act as a volume control for Bang & Olufsen audio-video products. If you need your hands free to deal with those things that cannot be remote-controlled, you will appreciate the comfortable fit of EarSet 1 Home.

Call Abroad – or the Kitchen

When several BeoCom 1 or BeoCom 2 handsets share the same base, you have the ability to redirect external calls from one handset to another. Internal calls are free, and all the handsets have access to the same built-in electronic phonebook, which stores up to 200 entries. The phone book updates itself automatically, on all the phones, when you make a change in one. This very convenient feature is refined with the ability to create custom phone books for individual handsets, e.g. the one that belongs to the home office or the teenage daughter.

This phone is by far the best I've ever owned. It's the only cordless phone that combines useful features, excellent sound quality and reception with style and quality. I own both the Beocom 6000 and Beocom 1 setups, and both systems perform flawlessly. One reviewer claimed the phone battery cover broke on both her phones, but I have five of these and none has ever had anything break on them in the five years I've been using them (and more than once I have dropped them on tiled floors).

I have the old BeoCom system that came out a couple of years ago - we love the way it looks, but it has so many problems. The phone locked itself recently and even after consulting the manual, I can't get it to unlock. The battery cover broke off of two of the phones so the wires are constantly falling out. They work well with each other - we have four handsets and they communicate all information so you don't have to input twice. Sound quality is good. But not worth the cost, in the least.
