Customer Reviews

It was easy to assemble and seems very sturdy.

I put the wheels on with the bolts, tightened them all up, and began to use the truck.

The folding handle is a struggle top open or close and is loose in the open position.

I read other reviews that talked about packaging, or various other issues. It came with the packaging a little beat up, but all in one piece, and everything looked fine. I put the wheels on with the bolts, tightened them all up, and began to use the truck. In the first trip rolling on flat, concrete hallways, 3 bolts came out of the wheels. Luckily, I found them, and put them back on, tightening again with the wrench. I had about 125 lbs of materials on it when the bolts had come out though, so the weight caused the wheel mechanism to bend. Nonetheless, I was able to get it back on and tightened well enough. Used this to go to a craft fair and roll in materials that weighed much less than 125 lbs and still, the bolts came out. Tightened the bolts after each trip into the building, but the bolts still fell out. I now have lost about half the bolts since I couldn't find them after they fell out, I have a bent wheel on the truck, and it has unfortunately turned from what I hoped would be a useful tool to a frustratingly useless one.

For those who can't figure out how to fold the handle, you have to step on the metal bar along the back. That releases it, for both folding and unfolding, and it's easy. The handle is a little short, but it's a sturdy little thing. I carried an entertainment center all on my own, using this little cart. And it's perfect for an apartment, because it maneuvers so easily.

EDIT 1/14/2013: if you get one that's missing bolt(s), nut(s) or washer(s), take one of each of those (assuming you got at least one of each!) to your local big box home store and go to the hardware section. You will almost certainly find exact matches to replace your missing items for just pennies. Yes this is aggravating and just not right (hey, life is unfair, deal with it) but trivial in comparison to returning the item.

Original review follows:

I think your success with this depends on what shape it's in when you get it. Mine came in a pretty intact box containing an inner box with the four casters - you have to put them on yourself using four bolts and four lockwashers on each caster. In my case, 15 of the bolts and 15 of the lockwashers were partially screwed into the underside of the deck, giving you a small hint that you have to take them out and then use them to install the casters (there are no written instructions). The 16th bolt and 16th lockwasher had fallen out of the deck during transit and were fortunately rattling around in the box. If there had been any holes in the box, they would have surely fallen out during transit as would any other bolt/lockwasher pairs that had come away from the deck.

Anyway, it looked like I had everything so I installed the casters (with the pivoting ones beneath the handle) and tightened the bolts painfully tight (I thought I was about to strip a couple of them) with a giant adjustable wrench since several reviewers said they tend to fall out. The bolts that came with mine seemed plenty long for the job and screwed well into the deck.

Then I stood on it (I weight a little under 200#) and bounced up and down for a while - no give, no groaning, very sturdy.

I was skeptical buying this. I needed to move my college age daughter to an apartment and needed something sturdy, cheap and strong. This platform fulfilled all the requirements. The width was terrific. Boxes did not fall off and neither did the wheels or handle. Take the chance. Buy it . You won't be disappointed.

This is very poorly constructed. The bolts that hold the wheels on keep falling off - one of the nuts welded on the inner layer of the cart was broken and so one of the wheels was never able to even be properly attached. Don't waste your money - keep looking!

Come on, people, this is a $34 dolly. I've used much more expensive ones and this one offers 90% of the functionality with only a few drawbacks. Use a socket wrench to tighten the bolts on the wheels, simple. The blue texture on top starts to peel with a little bit of water but, again, it's a $34 steel dolly, what's not to love? It moves heavy objects around like it's supposed to.

Update: I used this dolly to help move a giant solid wood playset, must have been 500lbs, 9ft tall, and the dolly was a champ. I've abused this thing to no end, sits outside in the rain, give it no love and it still does what it's suppoesd to. Easily the best purchase for the house. Get it.

The box arrived damaged and there were missing parts (nuts and bolts for wheels for platform truck had presumably fallen out of the tears in the cardboard packaging). There was no insulation or wrapping for the item inside the box whatsover, no instruction manual - I suspect that I received a returned item...unfortunately, no one at Amazon checked to ensure that everything was in order before reshipping. What a shame....I returned the truck since I needed one ASAP and had to go out and buy one from a store, so I can't really comment on the actual product. I deliberated between this truck and another one (that is better rated) - I regret not choosing the other one.

I have wanted one of these for years and I am just thrilled to have it. It makes unloading and reloading my art show set up a whole lot easier!
