Perfect substitute for a an open flame in bars and dens, and a great decoration piece to celebrate the Olympics! The technology is perfectly simple - But showing it is next to impossible because you have to see the motion and vibrancy to get the whole effect. Essentially it is an elegant arrangement of a silk fabric, powered by high-intensity Quartz Halogen lights and a high speed fan to make the flame dance.

I ordered eight of these to make my own indoor flame-less tiki torches. Each one takes 4 AA batteries, which is fine (I expected this after having read the product description), but for all that battery power, the amount of light given off is rather dim. The fan works very well and the "flame" is realistic looking. However, the fan is VERY noisy.

This type torch (Electric Silk Faux-Flame Battery Operated Hand held Prop Torch Light)was exactly what I was looking for since real flames can't be used in church plays. I order 3 and two worked. The fan nor the bulb worked in one but the company kindly replaced the broken one promptly. I was impressed with their service.

I needed a set of torches for a high school play. These were the most reasonably priced and offered the best value. When I was told that they might be shipped later than I needed them, I contacted the company through Amazon and was assured that the torches would arrive in time. Happily, they came two days later. They made a great and safe moment in our production.

Don't waste your money
