Might not be worth the price premium,

This review is from: Olympus 16 MB SmartMedia (Personal Computers)
SmartMedia is sold under several brands. Olympus branded SmartMedia allows you to take "panorama" shots. Essentially, you take multiple shots while making sure to overlap edges. You then reassemble these multiple shots using the "Camedia" software that came with your Olympus camera. The difference is that when an Olympus brand SmartMedia card is used, your digital camera keeps exposure settings constant across these multiple shots; which makes for a consistent panorama when you reassemble the individual shots via your computer. This is a nice feature, but not a feature most of us use often. If you are going to purchase multiple SmartMedia cards, you might be able to do with just one or two Olympus brand cards - especially since they cost more than other brands. I use two 32Mb other brand cards, and save my two 8Mb Olympus brand cards for when panorama shots present (since you can switch the cards out at anytime - unlike traditional camera film).

This is the Best Smart Media Card!,
This review is from: Olympus 16 MB SmartMedia (Personal Computers)
The Olympus Smart Media Card is the best when it compares to those other brands because I have an Olympus Camedia D-340R. With this card, I have the power of the panoramic photo mode- while other brands don't support this feature. While paying the same price, why buy anything less than an Olympus.Recommendation: Strong Buy

I also have an Olympus D340R Camera, and I have an Olympus 16mbcard and a Scandisk 16mb card. The panoramic feature isn't worth paying [the extra money]. Instead of buying one Olympus 16mb card, buy two Scandisk 16mb cards.

Ordering this and being satisfied with the service and item I ordered another one, Amazon ask or stated what would you wanted to know before purchasing the product, I already knew, I have dealt with Amazon a number of times and could not be more pleased with the full operation.

My order specifies 1 Olympus 16MB SmartMedia card.I got 1 16MB Smart Media card to use in an Olympus camera. There is a difference! The Olympus card has a panorama funtion. The other brands do not. I was not sent what I ordered.

I bought an Olympus D360L digital camera. Overall I was very happy with these cards. They have held up to the usage I've put them though, so far. It is nice to know that they have a 5 year guarnatee should anything happen. I would certainly buy the floppy or USB reader for transfering data. |
