Good way to be lazy if you want to be passive about getting up to speed on the camera.
It is still NO substitute for the detailed manuel, but it's a great alternative if you are a hyper visual person.

Also you can get it cheaper on the Olympus site with their discount code. Just check out the E-510 accessory page for details.
A good alternative if you know you will not make it thru the written material, but as it states it is ONLY a jumpstart, you'll still need to crack the books for the intermediate to advances stuff.
