There's not much to say about this Battery Holder other than, "It does its job and will allow you to use off the shelf power on long trips."
It holds Three (3) CR 123A Batteries and this will allow you to stock up on Lithium Cells when there is no possibility of recharge.

I use this holder with 3 CR123 non-rechargeable batteries as an emergency spare in case my 2 rechargeable batteries are flat. Come in handy a couple of times over the last 2 years and still working with the original 3 CR123's. Cheap insurance if you forget to charge your batteries sometimes. Picked up 10 CR123 online for $10, don't pay $5 each in a retail shop unless you really have to.

Buy batteries and go into your hiking trip... Of your normal battery is over... take this out... Put the batteries... and you are set...
No worries, for electricity... no worries, to rememer to recharge your batteries... I really like this idea of a Battery Holder... I have it in my photo backpack... with a set of new batteries... so when I am in need of Battery for my E-500.. I know where to look for. I consider that everyone should have one, because of the convenience it offers in really bad moments. I have two batteries for my camera, but I also bought this holder.

Item is quite simple looking and accepts three ordinary CR123A lithium batteries. The holder looks well made and functional, but I have not had the chance to use it much. The open question is how long the CR123A batteries will last in use. The problem I am solving is that the rechargeable batteries run down very quickly even if the camera is not being used, so the camera is useless for unpredicted needs, requiring an overnight charge. The hope is that with the CR123A batteries, the camera will be ready for instant use even after months of neglect.
It's best to buy the batteries online as well. The saving is substantial, a factor of about three.

This is the pack to take along and hopefully never have to use. CR123 batteries have a shelf life of like 10 years. They are also available in most drug stores. Use your normal rechargeable but when you have to get the pictures and the battery is dead this devise will save the day.

A Neat Olympus Battery Backup!,

My wife and I own various versions of the Olympus E-500 Series of SLR Cameras. These cameras use a specific type of rechargeable battery. If you are enjoying a heavy day of picture taking or working on a very cold day, your batteries may poop out. This little unit lets you use lithium batteries you can get at your local chain drug store and continue your shooting spree. It is a great emergency backup! The lithium batteries are not cheap, but have great staying power. You don't have to get one of these units, but you will be very happy you have one when the recharges let go.
