manual focus Aug 24, 2013
Olympus and Panasonic micro-4/3 lenses generally allow the choice of either auto- or manual- focus or both. Manual focus isn't exactly like using D/SLR lenses, however, as the PEN generally uses 'focus-by-wire' (i.e., electronically based) rather than using a direct mechanical linkage to the lens' focus gears.

I have never had a camera without a flash, why do you not need one for this camera? What about indoor shots? Oct 19, 2014
Like all cameras, using a flash indoors is helpful in getting a properly exposed shot. There are flash units that will work with this camera (it has a hot shoe on top) The problem with flash on any camera is that it tends to be harsh, which is why many photographers prefer using the available light. This camera can take better pictures indoors than the typical point and shoot camera, but the results are not as good as with a newer camera such as the Olympus E-PM2 or E-PL5.
With an adapter.
