Great Camera!,

This review is from: Olympus Stylus 150 QD Date 35mm Camera Kit w/ 37.5-150mm Zoom (Electronics)
Let me say I'm a bit of a camera freak so I have had many different cameras and have researched them. This is a great camera! I wouldn't consider it "ultra-compact" given what's on the market these days (I would consider it fairly average), but I have not been disappointed with the outcome of my pictures taken with this camera. Just make sure the camera is able to focus. I took it to Hawaii and it took great pictures with or without flash! I took pictures in the evening, from inside a submarine, at night, inside, outside,... just about everywhere in every type of situation! I hardly made any adjustments and it took beautiful pictures! The shake sensor.. you have to set the camera to that mode in order to use it and i believe it doesn't stay activated after you've taken a picture. I find myself having to reactivate that feature every time I want to take a picture using it. However, I rarely use it. As far as I can tell, the sensor only really works if the camera is shaking pretty hard, but maybe the camera is just that good and will only really take a bad shot if you're in a really shaky situation. For being an all-weather designed camera, I think it would've been better if it were made of metal like the all-weather Stylus Select 105.

Great camera if your still into film cameras. The pictures are crisp, and the colors are outstanding.

Poor quality camera,

I bought two of these cameras as gifts. Picture quality was ok...not great clarity but good color. Good for birthday party snapshots. After a few months, the sliding door stopped working on one of them. And shortly after the warranty expired (1 year) the other camera stopped working. Olympus phone service and Web site offered no help except to suggest that the only way to get it repaired was to mail it to them. For the price of $75.00 they would fix it. As the camera cost me $92.00, I'll just toss it in the trash. And NEVER buy an Olympus camera again!! That's my product review.

High Quality "point & shoot" film camera,
This review is from: Olympus Stylus 150 QD Date 35mm Camera Kit w/ 37.5-150mm Zoom (Electronics)
The zoom lens on this camera is well above what I expected. I was leaning toward a cheaper camera that did not have nearly as much zoom as this, but my photographer-father-in-law insisted that I would need this for taking pictures of my children. He was right. I am glad he bought this for me. The Olympus Stylus 150 takes excellent quality pictures with crisp color and great focus. My digital camera is grainy and does not have a tight zoom, so I am shopping for something like my Olympus, but with digital instead of film. If you want a compact automatic film camera, I recommend this one. I do not find any design flaw with the slide opening or pop-up flash, as another reviewer does...to each his own.

inconvenient design and fuzzy pictures,

I still like using film in my camera so I bought this one. It has several flaws. To hold the camera steady without a tripod, I like to hold on to the top. Unfortunately, the flash needs to pop up there; this is a bad design feature in my opinion. In addition, one turns the camera on by opening a door over the lens -- unfortunately, it sometimes takes several tries. That's bad when one is in a hurry to take a picture. Also, almost all of the zoom pictures have turned out fuzzy. In general, this camera has been a big disappointment. I bought it to replace a similar camera I've had for 7 years. I guess I need to continue looking for a replacement; this one is not going to work for me. I'm sorry I wasted money buying it.
