Olympus TCON14D Conversion Lens for C8080 Digital Camera

This 1.4x telephoto lens is effective in extending the zoom of the Olympus C-8080 from 5x to 7x without losing the fine details and vibrant colors captured by the camera's internal lens. It creates much better images than the 3x Tokina lens offered on this site.

Prospective purchasers should keep in mind, however, that this is a telephoto lens rather than a zoom lens. It does not attach directly to the C-8080's own lens but rather is mounted over it. While you can zoom the Olympus's own lens while the TCON14D telephoto lens is mounted, you must be very close to the C-8080's full optical zoom capabilities to avoid vignetting (black circle surrounding your image). It is also a fairly large and bulky lens for the small degree of improvement in optical zoom that it offers.

Still, I'm very pleased with the photos I've taken with this lens. As with the C-8080 without a supplemental lens, the TCON14D renders excellent color and maintains quite a good level of detail even when supplemented with digital zoom.
