(I'm posting this just a couple of days after getting the unit, so these are first impressions)
While biking with my iPhone 5, I like to use MapMyRide with a BlueTooth heart rate monitor, often while listening to iHeartRadio. These things absolutely kill a phone's battery life! A 1-hour ride this way can often use 50% or more of my iPhone's charge. So, this portable battery pack/flashlight was exactly what I was looking for. It works great to keep my phone fully charged. And the flashlight is very bright, more so than my previous LED light which was powered by 3 AAA batteries.

The velcro strap is less than ideal for securing it to my bike's handlebars; it's difficult to get it tight enough to keep the light from shifting position. I used a steel hose clamp in place of the strap and this issue was solved. The belt clip and handlebar adapter both snap on/off the unit, so it's easy to detach it from my bike when needed.

I didn't spend much time trying to get it to play music. I tried the radio tuner and it was unable to lock on to a single station in my area. So, this feature is next to useless IMO. The ability for the unit to play audio is absolutely secondary to me, and I wouldn't recommend purchasing one if this is a priority.

It is recharged thru a micro-USB port (common to many cell phone chargers), and a standard USB port is used as the charging/output port for external devices. It comes with a short (less than 1') USB cord with four adapters for connecting it to different cell phones, including both the old and newer style plugs for Apple devices. A standard USB phone-charging cord should also work fine with the unit.

Omaker generously provided the opportunity for me to review their new MEZ-Q7, a unique multi-functional device, that can operate as a light source, power bank, audio player, and FM radio. The Q7 can be mounted on a bicycle, or operate as a standalone unit.

The Q7 has a rechargeable battery with power capacity of 5000mAh, and can be used to recharge other electronic devices. It has an LED light source, with two light levels, and two strobe modes. Besides functioning as a flashlight, there are provisions for mounting it to a bicycle handlebar as a headlight.

The Q7 has a built-in FM radio, and MP3 player. MP3 files can be accessed either through a TF card slot, or a USB port. A small, but highly efficient speaker is located at one end of the device, and is capable of producing some pretty crisp sound, at rather substantial volume levels.

The MP3 player has no memory capability, so when MP3 mode is entered, the same track will be played first. Using a multi-functional control wheel, you can skip tracks, forward and back, and adjust the volume. This small control wheel can be a little tricky to operate, particularly while riding a bike. Your results may vary, but the FM radio doesn't seem very efficient. It picks up only about five of the thirty five or so stations available in my locale. Signal strength varies, with maybe two of the stations coming in strongly.

The Q7 has some cool features, but it doesn't seem well suited to withstanding the elements. The housing appears reasonably solid, but the input ports, and audio jack, are all completely exposed, with no protective provisions, like inserts or rubber seals. It's very possible for rain water to enter the device, and perhaps damage it. If you ride on muddy trails, dirt could get in as well.

This is a great bike light! It comes with multiple lighting modes that alert traffic to your presence. It also features a small yet powerful speaker so you can listen to your favorite tunes during your ride. One of the stand out features is the external battery that this unit is equipped with so you can charge your phone when it dies.

Overall, this is a great unit. I would suggest that they make the speaker run off of bluetooth for a future model.

What an exceptional device for the price! My first bike light was about $80 bucks and this one is lighter and brighter (it has an adjustable light) and it also charges your electronics! Pretty impressive little tool.

Easy to take when camping or hiking to use as both a power bank and bright light to assist you in the great outdoors, or even to keep in your glove box for emergencies, it does more.

The only thing I would personally change about it is that I wanted to attach it to the deck rail for grilling but I fear after a hard rain it would not work--because the charging elements are not enclosed in a rubber "door" as most outdoor lights or water resistant items with chargers have (like my bike speakers)

I think it would be fine for lighter rains since these ports are on the base, or when used sometimes--like on a bike when you certainly would not likely be hanging out in downpours whenever it's possible not to, but it's more of an indoor/outdoor thing whereby if it is pouring rain when camping, it's in your tent, for example, but when you are outside cooking while camping, it is with you.

Actually the light would likely work just fine in the rain, just not the power ports after a rain is my guess, since they would be totally exposed.

Great funky fun colors to dress up the bike too, very nice light housing which is what you want on a bike--no heavy loads for uphill bike rides so any little bit counts!

Very bright--and that makes it better than most, especially for this size and, at the time of my review, a fantastic price.

Nice gift for the outdoorsy person. I personally can think of a million uses for it.
