When I first started reading Omamori Himari, I really liked it and Matra's artwork. As time progressed, I found myself impressed with his writing and characterization. This volume shows how his skills have really matured. There are the obligatory panty shots and sexual innuendos, but Matra does reveal more about the characters and expands our knowledge of the overall setting of the story. It begins with Yuuto dreaming about Himari in a much more explicit sexual way than in the past. Himari is frustrated that he stops when he wakes up. The action then moves to Rinko her anxiety over what to do about Tama (the Nine-Tailed Fox) and her control of Class President, Yuu Shimamura (whose name we learn for the first time here). We also see Yuuto's visit to the Top Ranked Tsuchimikado demon slaying family's compound and his acceptance as an equal among the other families. On the other hand, the other families want to separate Yuuto from Himari and attempt to draw out her demon side. Finally, we see the gang decide to confront Tama and Shuten-dōji, where Liz overcomes her shyness and finally kisses Yuuto. The volume ends with Tama coming to Yuuto's house and destroying it while fighting Himari and Shizuku. Another volume with lots of action and more character development. If you liked the previous volumes, you won't be disappointed with this one.

This series has been getting better as it goes on. It seemed to have stumbled a bit around Vol 5 (the author later reveals it was originally only going to be a 5 volume series), but it has continued to develop. The last few volumes have been expanding the storyline around Tamamo no Mae - the arch demon - and we are learning more about the Demon Slayer families. This volume continues this and expands more on the demon slayer councils.

The story line is in full swing in this edition of the manga. The self realization plot goes deep and overall the story is darker than previous installments. Also of note is that the fan service picks up and goes beyond the odd panty shot, skews the target age group a little higher.

There more chapters I wish to read or see. Quite attractive too, in these books when there are touching moments.
