I purchased the 2255.80 directly from Amazon, not through a 3rd party. The watch is widely reviewed all over the net and is a masterpiece, so I'll comment only on the specific characteristic of purchasing directly from Amazon, something I debated at length (again, not through a third party, I bought directly from Amazon):

In a nutshell, the watch comes exactly as it would from an authorized dealer (AD) but does not come with the warranty card you'd get from an AD which allows the watch to be serviced by Omega should anything go wrong. Instead, you'd ship back to Amazon. I figured the probability of something going wrong with the watch within the first two years was incredibly low anyway, so it made sense to purchase from Amazon, where the savings was an order of magnitude greater than most ADs. The piece itself was flawless with all correct serial numbers and red dot intact on the caseback.

In the future I would again purchase a fine time piece from Amazon because the savings is incredible and the watch itself comes exactly as it would from any other AD source, just with different warranty characteristics you're unlikely to have to use anyway.

Stays to within +1 second a day, even fully wound or near the 44-hour power reserve
limit (although I've seen it unwind fully in 48 to 50 hours, amazing). There is plenty
on the web concerning Omega watches, the Seamaster series, Omega caliber 1120, and the ETA
2892-A2 movement (with 23 jewels as modified by Omega). Not bad for a Swatch Group
watch! Don't let the Rolex's fool you; they're very good, but you get more bang for your buck
with Omega. The 'grey market' pricing through amazon is brilliant, and I have a local
jeweler who can service the watch as if it is under Omega warranty. The clasp does get
a bit scratched up, naturally, and the bezel is uniquely somewhat hard to turn,
but it works well when needed. This watch ROCKS!! and is a nice complement to a good quartz watch, like Seiko or Citizen.

This is a superior timepiece. Looks and feels great. I own several watches and this is my favorite.

I purchased this watch at Amazon.com through Jomashop. Was initially a little nervous ordering such an expensive piece through an etailer, so I called the merchant and was rewarded with an incredibly conscientious customer service rep. I chose 2-day air, and was wearing the watch 24 hours later. Mine runs 3 seconds fast per day, which is incredibly accurate and well within the COSC chronometer standard. Beautifully and carefully packaged, the watch came with its red dot seal intact and new protective plastic film over the crystal and the bottom of the bracelet (no question as to either authenticity or newness). Omega stopped making this watch in favor of the skeleton arm Bond watch, which was great for me (and perhaps you), as the price was awesome and I frankly think this is a more classy looking watch. It goes with a pair of jeans as well as with a suit and tie. The dial is a much deeper and more radiant blue than is shown in the picture on Amazon (its kind of like that intense electric blue at the bottom of a nuclear reactor pool). It actually changes color depending upon how the light hits it. The watch comes with the tried and tested Omega 1120 chronometer movement which is not the new co-axial in house movement, but a proven Omega modified ETA 2892-A2 25 jewel movement that is found in many other watches costing 4 or more times as much. Saved hundreds of dollars over what a retailer would have charged and has AMAZON stand behind a warranty. The watch was perfect and packed well. Very pleased with this purchase.

My review is only of the watch, because Amazon have changed the supplier several times, so who knows how packaging and service may vary.

As for the watch, it is just stunning. The photograph does nothing to show the beauty of this classic timepiece.

Sadly Omega are moving upscale with their fancy Coaxial movements and higher prices. This particular watch is no longer produced by Omega, so when it's gone, it's gone.

Only got mine today, and still loving it. Think I will for many years to come.

It's not too big, not too small. Very comfortable, heavy but not stupidly so. The Super Luminova (glow in the dark) markings are very bright giving you perfect visibility of the time.

The movement is tried and tested, and has proven to be highly successful. So it's accurate, beautiful, and rugged. If you want a diver's watch with an interesting look, this is a great choice.

Ordered this watch for a graduation present. Can't beat the price what was listed against any retail. The watch is great, however, there were some black stains in the box, due to the barcode rubbing. None the less, it is a great watch and its a timeless piece, automatic chronometer, stainless steel and its an Omega! I highly recommend to anyone to purchase for someone special :)

Absolutely wonderful timepiece. Watch came with Chrono Certificate and Pictograms card (No IWC as Amazon states). Arrived on time and in mint condition. The felt does get slightly smudged from the barcode but is pretty easily wiped off.
