Warning,

Just want to warn everyone, while this works for longer lenses, pancake lenses or wide angle/short lenses often will get flare because the diffuser extends past the lens, bouncing light back towards the lens.

I know there are better options, but I'm not a professional so there is a budget! These do exactly what they're supposed to do and they fit on my d3000 perfectly. Would recommend them to anyone who doesn't always want to lug around a huge flash for snapshots.

It was broken when I received it. Very cheaply made. But returning it would have been more of a hassle than it was worth.

These work great, but the kind of photography I really get into need a little more light than my pop up flash will allow... I do still use them occasionally but I use my bounce flash more often....

I hated the flash on my Canon Rebel XTi. OMG, I hate it!!! The light is completely unnatural. When I went to Samy's, I saw something very similar to this product for $20. With $5 less, I thought this is a perfectly good substitute. This makes all the pictures taken with the flash look MUCH more even toned and natural. I highly recommend it for all amateur photographer. BTW, I have both the Canon Rebel XTi and Canon 7D and they mount perfectly on both.

When I received the diffusers I was disappointed how transparent they are. The official photos on the product page make them seem more fog like diffusers. When I compare with and without images, I could hardly notice the difference.

Good Product, a little flimsy.,

It is a good product, only a little flimsy since the "legs" are made out of plastic. Metal would have been better bu heavier and more expensive. Don't expect miracles, it softens the light somewhat but not like an external flashed bounced from the ceiling. Good for when you want to travel light and an external flash would be too cumbersome.

I purchased this as a gift for my friend,Since, I don't have enough money to purchase the Branded One. On the other hand, My brother told me to buy the $19.95 Diffuser ( the Branded One ) for him So I bought this set for my friend and one $19.95 GF Diffuser for my brother. To cut it short, For me, This was really effective rather than the expensive one. These diffusers really gave me soft shadows on the pictures. Compatibility with my Canon T1i, was perfect! Quality was better than the $19.95 diffuser! I will be returning the $19.95 diffuser back to the seller. I think it depends on the suppliers the seller contacts, Maybe I was just lucky enough to receive these nice kind of diffusers. (",) Four Stars for these diffusers, because I have to put a little effort inserting and removing the brackets to the holes. I don't know if it's normal.

Not bad for the price,

I purchased this mainly because I wanted the color diffusers, and quite honestly it was cheap enough. I own the authentic Puffer diffuser as well and am very happy with it. This version slid better into my hot shoe and with my Nikon D40, there was no problems with it preventing the flash from opening. The package was fully intact upon arrival and was easy to use. It doesn't quite warrant a 5 star, as it's a little difficult to push the pegs into the holes on the blue screen.Pros: easy to use, price is right Cons: some minor manufacturing flaws with attaching the screen

This review is from: Omni-Bounce Diffuser OMEY For The Canon 550 EX (Electronics)
when inserted, it prevents the flash from opening. i had to cut a little piece out of it,for it to allow triggering the flashi believe the gary fong version resolved this problem. but anyway it's a very useful and handy pop-up diffuser |
