I have been using Omni-Gel for several years now to transfer images from printed paper to other surfaces, such as domino beads for bracelets, glass bottles, glass Christmas ornaments, blown eggs, the undersides of glass gems, etc. Typically, I use images from laser printed collage sheets, but I have also used photocopies and magazine images, and it works well with all paper thicknesses.

If you use as directed (three coats in different directions) over a printed image, you get a fairly sturdy, somewhat transparent decal or 'skin' that can be glued or decoupaged to almost any surface. Because the skin is supple, and not stiff, you can work on curved surfaces, such as bottles, candles, stones, etc.

The process for transferring an image to the glue requires that you peel or scrape the original image away from the dried glue skin, and you usually destroy or lose the original image in the process- because of this, I would not recommend using this product to transfer images from photos or original artwork, but from photocopies, instead.

As stated in other reviews, Omni-Gel also works well as a surface coat; I have made jewelry using tiny DaVinci artwork, and when I used the Omni-Gel to coat the finished item, it looked like tiny, authentic oil paintings because the brush strokes become highlighted. (You can sand the finished surface for a more muted, matte finish. I have been pleased with both finishes.)

I love this product because it allows me to take craft projects to a higher level, with more professional results than gluing paper images to surfaces.

I create collages using newspaper clippings and this produce dries clear and very quickly. After a few costs of Omni Gel any printed image can be lifted and using water can become s lovely item.

So far, this product works as described on the package.

I've noticed that if your coats are too thin, it's easy to warp the image - but that leads to other creative options.

It's a bit smelly, even with ventilation - so definately make sure to have proper ventilation in your work area. And don't forget to clean your brush or foam immediately - it's difficult to wash off even right away.

This works well as a transfer medium. I have used to transfer images to leather and images to chandelier crystal backs. Also works like a clear drying glue.

This product works like a charm when used as directed. You create an actual translucent skin of the image you're transfering (like a waterslide decal) and can use the omni gel to adhere it to whatever surface you want. Make sure to follow the easy instructions and you will not look back.

I've tried many transfer mediums, both those specifically sold as such, and other acrylic mediums. I've yet to find one that is perfect, but this is the closest so far. If you use more than one coat, be sure the first coat is completely dry, otherwise bubbles may form in between the coats. I'm sure the ultimate quality of your image depends on the type of paper being used and experimentation is called for. Overall, this is certainly worth trying.

I tried Omni Gel with a black and white laser print and it turned out great. I followed the directions and put on two good coats of the product (letting each coat dry fully), soaked the project in water, and began carefully peeling off the paper backing. I have yet to try OG with a color laser photo, but when I do I will post my results. So far, this is application is much better than jamming up my printer with transfer paper. : )

This arrived solidified into a clump in the bottle. When I went to the returns button, I was told it was it couldn't be returned, as it was a hazardous material (that made me laugh..you sent it to me, right? was it not hazardous then??) BUT- I sent a quick email to Amazon customer service to see if anything could be done- within the hour I got a wonderful, courteous reply, an apology, and a promise to refund my money back onto my credit card, which was done within 2 days. The product might have been a disaster, but Amazon Customer Service turned it into a chance to make me a happy customer! Great Job Amazon.. lousy job OmniGel!
