5.0 out of 5 stars Seed tray is a great addition to peanut feeder, March 9, 2008

I just purchased my second Omni seed tray and another Droll Yankee peanut feeder, since the first one is working so well after one year. I use the peanut feeders for black oil sunflower seeds and they work wonderfully. No messy tubes to clean and the birds love to cling to the wire and pull out the seeds. The trays catch a lot of the seed and the cardinals come and sit on the trays to eat. A perfect set up. Very durable and even if the deer come by, they can only lick the trays and wish for more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps the ground clean, makes it easy for bigger birds to eat, February 14, 2009

This seed tray does a great job at catching seed spills from messy eaters, and also allows birds that are too big for the perches to eat (like the Northern Cardinal).

On the other hand -- it makes an excellent platform for squirrels to eat all your seed effortlessly since they no longer have to hold on!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have for any birdfeeder, October 4, 2008

The seed tray is easily installed and a necessity for your tube birdfeeder. It catches the seeds that drop out of the feeder and attracts even more birds to join in on the feast. It's a great size and very durable.

Birds, especially doves, love this. Unfortunately the squirrels do too. If you can keep the squirrels away - get one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for preserving seed, September 22, 2010
This review is from: Omni Seed Tray Feeder, Clear
The Droll Omni Seed Tray easily screws into the bottom of the Droll Yankee tube-style feeders, and collects the spilled seed. It's great for a new feeder, too, since you can sprinkle a bit of seed in the tray to attract birds to your feeder. Cardinals prefer the added perch that the tray gives them, so I was pleased about that, too.

I found that ordering the seed tray from Amazon's sellers - even with shipping - turned out to be a better deal than my local specialty bird shop. For my second Droll Yankee feeder, tree arm, and seed tray, I did purchase the complete set from the local store as they provide a good deal of guidance for the backyard birder, as well as full repairs.

My 25 year old Yankee Droll feeder's tray was shot. This new one is larger, very sturdy and the birds love it. They all are chirping happily as they eat. I would recommend this tray to anyone. It is so substantial it will last the rest of my life I am sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product! Attracts more birds!, January 30, 2010

This is a wonderful product. If you have a yankee feeder and you want to save seeds and waste less this is for you. It's easy to put on and remove for cleaning and the birds love it! I've had my feeder for awhile now and I used to only get gold finches and now with this omni tray I get red finches to as they seem to prefer the tray. I love the fact that a rejected seed from one bird that is still good (or just fell when another seed was pulled out) can still be eaten by another bird and not be wasted!

Also I brought the Seattle Rain Guard that is meant for yankee feeders and it's great to. I have both the Omni Tray and the Rain Guard on my feeder and the birds love both and it saves seeds and I'm all about saving money! Less seeds wasted...less money spent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Fine Droll Yankees Product, January 21, 2012

The Omni tray can be attached to the bottom of the Droll Yankees feeder with a pastic threaded plug (furnished) or a wing nut (not furnished). It is a simple task to complete and no tools are needed. The tray has a a number of holes around the outer perimeter of the feeder to let water drain. Having a tray means not only preventing seed from falling to the ground but also attracting birds that are too big to use the perches. The few seeds that do fall on the ground are soon consumed by doves, if they can get to them before the squirrels arrive.

This tray is made in the USA and is a quality product from Droll Yankees. It will attract far more birds then just the feeder alone.

Bought these Heavy Duty trays to catch the seeds that drop from the feeder when the birds are eating. In the past, the seeds dropped and the squirrels got free lunch. Now, the seeds are caught in the tray and the birds are happy. My seed usage has dropped and I am also happy

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent - perfect addition for Cardinals, May 23, 2011

This tray is a great addition to a Droll Yankee feeder. It helps catch the seeds so they don't all fall to the ground, which is really helpful when you want to preserve your quality/expensive seed as long as possible. Our Cardinals are much happier now that they can perch on the tray - it's very sturdy. We also have some chubby mourning doves that appreciate the tray too.
