I adored this game until I reached levels where you can't win without using some of the special functions (laser flowers, for example if you're familiar with the game). I just did not find the instructions (and some of the other game controls) intuitive. I flubbed thru a number of levels while ignoring the functions I didn't understand, but eventually they become necessary. Despite going back a number of times to the levels where they first appear and the instructions are given, I just couldn't wrap my head around getting them to work. I also found that the constant pinching & zooming had me accidentally launching or misdirecting groups of seeds on a fairly regular basis. These were problems only in the later levels and I loved the game until then. The game is very elegant in design, and maybe its just me, but I think a little less style and a little more clarity of various control & functions would be helpful.

Colonize the universe with your plants.

Play relaxed or challenging games styles. This is a real time strategy game where the focus of your attention has to be continuously changing between expanding your colonized asteroids or fighting your enemies.

The game has 20 screens of instructions and seems overly complicated at first glance but the game play is simple and easy to learn. This is one of those games where playing it is the only way to learn how to play it well. The story mode is the best way to start playing the game.

The game is slow for me in the learning mode. You send seedlings to other asteroids and when there are 10 or more of them you can plant a tree which takes 10 seedlings. Some asteroids contain enemy seedlings and they will attack your seedlings. If you do not send reinforcements your colony will be overrun. The objective is to colonize your area of space and keep your asteroids healthy and producing new trees and seedlings.

You can pan and zoom onto the asteroids to see what is going on. The game to me is a building process of interstellar expansion and survival. You have to have some strategy and plan your moves. While the game is interesting it moves a bit slow but perhaps that is because I started out in the story mode for the learning experience. This game has a lot of potential and as my skill improves I will increase the difficulty levels.

The graphics are very nicely done and the sound track is OK. I had to turn down the volume as some of the sounds can be annoying. As your colonized asteroids fields get bigger and bigger it becomes more difficult to play as you cannot see your entire colonized area.

Eufloria is unique in its style and mood. In a genre dominated by machines and technology, it delivers a botanical struggle set amidst the stars that somehow feels true to itself. Its story is minimal, but delivers just enough narrative to advance the mood of the game without getting in the way of playing. Eufloria is for lovers of strategy that could use an organic break from a genre that can be a bit too stylistically predictable.

Making RTS (real-time strategy) on a small screen is a challenge. Eufloria started on the PC, but this mobile adaptation is masterfully done. Most non turn-based strategy on mobile is Tower Defense, which I'm a big fan of, but I wish there were more RTS. Eufloria really manages to streamline the mobile user interface for RTS without gutting or over-simplifying the underlying elements of the genre. Eufloria manages to be simple to learn, both in the rules of the game and in the control mechanics, yet very challenging at its highest settings. Even a lot of fairly complex PC RTS games like to avoid resource management, but Eufloria actually retains that mechanism without allowing it to become tedious. Nothing is in the game that doesn't fit, but it's surprising just how much fits into a package this elegant.

It carries an easy going tone in the normal story mode on the aptly named relaxed play setting that feels less like beating a game and more like raking a zen garden, but when you turn up the difficulty, peaceful meditation becomes a cutthroat darwinian struggle for survival. You can play this really slow, and it makes a nice game to play while doing something else, like watching the news. But you don't have to play slow. There are three speed settings, so you can crank it up and at a decidedly non-zen pace if you like.

I bought this title about a year and a half back from a different app store run by a spying advertising agency masquerading as a tech company. I am glad it showed up here as the FAOTD so I can review it and offset some of these questionable lower reviews. First, to some of those who rated it low because they don't understand the game; did you play it for more than a few minutes? I am going to try and say this as politely as possible; it doesn't take much brain power to figure it out which is part of the relaxing nature of this Real Time Strategy.

If you enjoy RTS games and puzzle games like Osmosis, Quell, Splice, or Spirits, you will definitely enjoy Eufloria. Think of it as Starcraft but with artistic graphics, a relaxing ambient soundtrack and no-stress simplified game play. I guess those who are looking for explosions, blood and violence will probably not have the attention span to learn what is best described as very simple to pick up, but complex enough to have substance Artistic Nature Themed RTS

The first few levels explain what you need to know in order to play, so if you spend more then thirty seconds you should get the basic principle of the game. It becomes more complex as you continue. For the average individual with moderate intelligence you will not have an issue learning how to play.

If you enjoy relaxing ambient style puzzlers and strategy games you will enjoy Eufloria. I apologize I can't describe it better but this review should be enough to get an idea of the type of people who will enjoy the title and the type that would not have enough patience to play a slower paced, relaxing, nature themed, RTS.

Enjoy the trees; double meaning intended. As always, thank you Amazon & Dev.
