Excellent product,

First and foremost this product is made entirely out of high gauge steel. Not one piece of plastic. Secondly the product parts all fit flawlessly. Thirdly, product provides great flexibility with respect to speaker/camera mounting. This is because it includes three different ball mounts with three different length metal rods sticking out of them, a short (about an inch), a medium (about 3 inches) and a long (about 7 inches). In addition and very importantly for this type of mount, the balls are out of rough shaped steel so they can be better held into the well designed ficture designed to hold them. Hence, once tightened, there is no play or movement of the ball whatsoever. Once set they can hold the speaker or camera well. In addition, the mount can be easily loosened later on if one needs to change speakers/camera and add one of the other ball mounts instead (i.e., if one would like the speaker/camera to be closer or further from the wall). Even after being changed the mount does not lose any of its ability to hold the ball tightly. All and all an excellent product for the price.Update: Since the above posted review (Oct 2009) the manufacturer has changed some specs so it is not all metal now. My review only applies towards the product when it was sold in late 2009. I do not know how else changes in specs have affected product (i.e., ability to hold speaker, etc.).

This is an Omnimount 10.0. Not sure why it isn't listed as such. Used them to hang speakers from the ceiling. They are well made, look good and were easy to install. There are a multitude of options you can use with these mounts. I recommend them.

I was very nervous about ordering brackets that cost me $80 (with shipping) and having them show up and not work. I understand you can make returns, but who wants that hassle. But after much research about my speakers (Polk) I determined these were the best bet, and it turns out they were!
Each bracket came packaged with the short straight arm for mounting on a wall, and a long "L" shaped arm for mounting from the ceiling. The description wasn't clear about this, so I was glad to see both options when I opened the box. The ball joint holds very securely and allows excellent speaker positioning. I really couldn't be happier with the product, as it does everything I need it to do. My one complaint was the shipping costs($27 to ship all four brackets), but even with that cost these ended up being the cheapest available brackets that I could find on the internet that fit my needs.

The construction of the mount is terrific. The instructions are none existent. I wanted a mount that would attach to my speaker through the keyhole in the back. Can't do it with this mount. At $15 for 1, a waste of money. Support didn't know what I was talking about when I called them. The ad clearly says it will fit keyhole mounts. It doesn't.

Good price and good product. I have a pair of Cambridge soundworks Ensemble 2 speakers - they are quite heavy for their size. You'll need a good Alan-Key and some elbow grease to tighten the clamp around the ball if you're speakers are heavy but otherwise these are inconspicuous and fabulous for that.

Good strong product! This mount allows you to move the speaker to any direction after it is mounted to the wall or ceiling, then holds that position.
This product is perfect for mounting to the ceiling. I have two more speakers im going to mount and going to get these same mounts to do it.

I've a set of SphereX satellites--a bargain line once marketed for the XBox--I wanted mounted in my TV room. This particular speaker design should be mounted pointing upwards, and the mounting hardware consists of a 1/4" 20 threads per inch bolt hole on the bottom of the speaker. With the L shaped rod included with this speaker mount, I was easily able to mount my left and right channel speakers on the same wall as my TV. Of course, this took two copies of the mount. Even with the added leverage of misusing the L rod, the mount was up to the task of holding my 2.5 lb. speakers upright. The appropriate Allen wrench is included for tightening the swivel.
Construction is fine. I'm not sure what the swivel ball is made of. At a minimum, it's coated with a thick roughened plastic, which as I said was up to the task. There are a wide variety of auxiliary parts most of which you will not use. There is a plate for screwing mounting hardware onto the back of a wooden speaker; wall anchors, various bolts and screws, etc. So I can recommend this mount for at least 2.5 lb, and probably a good deal more.

The package said it could hold a 10lb speaker. Maybe the bracket technically can, but good luck getting that silly plastic ball to hold your speaker in the direction you want it to stay.
Hours of fighting and tightening this POS to the limit of human ability, only to see it wilt and droop to the massive weight of my 7 lbs speaker. Did not do the job. I couldn't be more dissatisfied.

I had previously ordered the 5-pack of Sanus speaker mounts from this same Vendor, which seemed like a great deal (5 Sanus mounts for ~$30 vs 1 Omnimount for ~$20). The Sanus mounts didn't work for me because I needed to position two of my speakers at a 90 degree angle to the wall on which they are mounted, and the maximum angle for the Sanus mounts is 45 degrees. So I bit the bullet and ordered the more expensive Omnimount instead, which allows you to position the speaker at any angle you want. Call me a snob, but there is no comparison between the products. The Sanus mounts were a decent product for the price, but the Omnimount is higher quality in every way. Even if the mounting angle had not been an issue, once I got my hands on the Omnimount there was no going back. It has a simpler and better design, is far more solid and secure, and has a higher quality look and feel. It also doesn't make the speakers jut out as far from the wall as the cheaper vinyl mounts do (which to me made the speaker installation look a little ridiculous). It's gonna kill me to shell out ~$80 for four surround speakers when there are far less expensive alternatives (yup, I'm going to order more so I can mount all four of my surround speakers with Omnimounts), but it's such a "cleaner" and more professional looking installation that I'm going to do it anyway. The Omnimounts are versatile-- they come with two mounting stems, one with a right angle bend for ceiling mounting, and a shorter straight stem for wall mounting. (Both the Sanus and the Ominmounts came from Vanns-- they were well packaged and arrived quickly). Incidentally, I'm using these Omnimounts with an Energy 5.1 Take Classic speaker system, and this mount works perfectly with these speakers. The speakers don't sound too bad either-- but I guess that's for a different review.
