shoddy product,

The bottom portion of the rods for these stands is threaded so they can be affixed to the base with a nut, washers and included wrench. Unfortunately the threaded part is not nearly long enough and firmly tightening the nut to secure the base and stand is impossible. Also the screw used to hold the stand in place after setting the desired height came so overtightened I couldn't loosen it and gave up to avoid stripping it. I have assembled many items before including other speaker stands and an entire home gym, and this marks the first time I ever had to return such an item. Do not buy.

I bought two sets of these stands for my Front and Surround speakers. For the most part, I do like these stands.
What I like: - Height Adjustable: I can adjust these to the proper height for my listening position. - Stable: The stands have a rather large glass base that makes for a stable stand, even on carpet. - Looks: For speaker stands, they look good at least in black. If you have small Front and Surround speakers like the Energy Take Classics they will look good on these stands. Assembly: It was very easy to assemble. I had no problems with overtightened screws, or getting everything to tightly fit together. What I didn't like: - Cable Management: The product says that the cable management will allow up to 14 gauge wire, but my 14 gauge speaker wire from [...] doesn't fit. - Speaker Mounting: I really wish that these had the speaker clamping mount some of the other speaker stands from Omnimount have. Instead you can either use direct screw mount (only some speakers can do this), use a angled bracket mount to screw your speaker to (basically an L shaped corner brace), or a small plate that use double sided sticky foam to adhere your speaker to. I didn't want to use the sticky foam on the finish of my speakers so I used the angled bracket. The problem is, the bracket isn't fully 90 degrees. My speakers actually point a bit downwards when mounted properly. I ended up reversing the bracket for my front speakers so that they point a bit up and mount them regularly but raise the height of my surrounds.

Perfect for ENERGY MICRO RC,

I could not be happier with these speaker stands. I put them together in all of 3 minutes. Simple, easy to read directions. I am using the Energy Micro RC speakers and they are less than 2 pounds each. So these stands worked perfect for me. The only "issue" (not a big deal) was that I had to use the screws that came with the speakers to mount them on the stand. The screws that came with the stands were not long enough to mount the speakers. Besides that, these are perfect. Have a solid base, poles seem flimsy but they are actually sturdy. Love the glass base also. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Assembly was easy. I had no real issues other than the adhesive pad on one of the feet came off glue and all. I put a dab of gorilla glue on it and have had no issues. The adjustable stands are nice, the universal mounting hardware was easy to use, and the speaker wire is hidden inside the stand. The base is glass and does show dust, but whatever, its behind my couch where I don't see it. That may be an issue for others though. All in all its a good speaker stand for the price.

The stands are relatively easy to assemble. Each part is individually labeled (with required number of pieces for that part) and encased in see-through plastic. They are sturdy enough and stable enough for smaller speakers adhering to the weight limit specified. The kit provides a variety of methods of securing the speaker to the stand, and provides the necessary fasteners for each method. I chose this stand for my surround speakers because it kind of matched the front speaker stands of my Sony Blueray Home Entertainment system at about 20% of the cost. Some care is required when fastening the vertical pipe to the bottom part of the stand since it is glass. If the wrench provided is used for that purpose, the chance of cracking the glass should be minimized. The only step that took a little more time than expected was threading the speaker wires through the middle of the vertical pipe support. I had to pull the telescoping portions of the pipe apart to get the wires through each section.

These stands look great and are stable even on carpet. I like the look of the glass base and the cable management system is nice (works just fine with my speakers, although it would be tight to get larger speaker wire inside the top portion of the tube as some others have mentioned). I had no problems with assembly or threading that another reviewer mentioned. The biggest drawback to the stands is only having three options for mounting. One uses a post (that goes into the bottom of the speaker, another uses a screw (into the back of the speaker) and the third utilizes double stick tape and a flat base. The only one that worked with my (older) speakers was the double sided tape option, which I was not interested in. So a trip to the hardware store to pick up a couple washers and nuts (less than $1) and I had a working system. Also, even though the stands are more expensive than some others, they are eligible for free super saver shipping (which actually made them less than many other stands).

I purchased these speaker stands based on a previous review that used the for an Onkyo HTIB. The stands only required a phillips and a flat head screwdriver as well as the included wrench. The rubber feet hold the stands securely in carpet, and the bases are nice and hold my speakers with stability, even at the maximum height. The stands assembled quickly, maybe no more than 15 minutes.
The only problem I encountered was that the screws that fit my design of speaker were too long and would bottom out in the threaded insert of the speaker before becoming tight against the mounting bracket. By chance I had some screws of the same diameter and pitch on hand, otherwise it would have been a few minutes with the hacksaw/grinder to shorten the included screws. For those less mechanically inclined, shorter screws are readily available at the local hardware or big box home improvement store. I chose to leave the rating at 5 stars as these are universal stands and with that comes an understanding that some adjustments might have to be made in order to get the desired fit.

Great stands with one flaw,

The stands are great for the price. They were very easy to assemble and come with various types of mounting appliations. The only problem is that the top stem is too thin to support a 16 gauge cable. I tried everything to run the cable inside the stem and no luck. So for now I have the cables outside the mount. Aside from that, I have no complaints.

I bought these because they looked better then the other ones from what I could tell. The base is tempered glass and looks pretty good but that is about it. the rest of it was very cheaply manufactured. When I was assembling the stands one of the screw inserts popped out of the top of the extension pole and wouldnt stay in. I hadnt even put the speakers on and I wasnt going to if it wasnt going to stay and casue my speaker to fall. Plus some of the metal was left in the speaker wire hole in the extension pole, making it a huge pain to get the speaker wire through. Just cheaply made and thats why I am returning mine and buying a different brand.

The speakers are nice and match perfectly with my tempered black glass tv stand. The poles are a little dinged up and the adjustable part is difficult to keep in the right position. Also, it is extremely difficult to lace the wire through the poles. Overall I like them, but they certainly aren't the best. Can't beat the price though.
