I have been using this TV stand for about 9 months now. I use it to hold a VIZIO VF551XVT 55-Inch XVT-Series TruLED 240 Hz SPS HDTV on the top shelf and various AV equipment on the bottom shelf.
The good news: This is an easily assembled piece; I put it together myself in less than an hour. It is reasonably attractive with a very simplistic design and good finish. The bad news: We have noticed that both the top and bottom shelves have started to bow. The top shelf has dipped more than a quarter inch in the center. Since this is listed as supporting 150lbs on the top shelf and the TV has a shipping weight of only 119lbs (including the box), there should not be a problem. The other (more minor) issue is with only about 10 inches clearance on the bottom shelf, it can be difficult to fit all the components in. It is also a bit low for comfortable TV viewing. Overall, this was an inexpensive table that worked fine for a few months, but it's just not proving durable for our needs.

Phenomenal TV Stand,

I had been looking for a TV stand that would be big enough to support a 50+ inch tv for weeks... Here's the problem: Almost all stands 60 inches or bigger are ridiculously expensive, and massive in their own right. The Omnimount Echo 63 resolved both these issues. Its sleek, low profile, surprisingly strong, and incredibly cheap compared to other stands the same size. But the best feature of all is the way you can hide all your cables and wires discreetly. fantastic idea.
I was still skeptical ordering this product off amazon with no reviews or customer photos, but i fell in love with the contemporary design and decided to take a chance on it. I'm glad I did. *** I will post photos of the stand in my living room to give fellow amazoners a better idea of what it looks like. (The tv sitting on top of it is a 32 inch Samsung)

Pretty easy to assemble. I would've preferred wooden (or wooden looking) legs instead of the metallic legs, but that's more personal opinion and I didn't rate it down because of that. I only gave it four out of five stars because I'm slightly concerned about its ability to handle weight. On Omnimount's website, it says that the stand can hold up to 150 lbs and the shelf can hold 80 lbs. I don't really know what that means. Either way, I have a 60 inch LG PK650, which Amazon says is 71.6 lbs, so I think I'm safely under whatever limit the stand was designed to hold. I notice that with the TV on top, the top shelf sags slightly, such that the distance from the bottom of the top-shelf to the top of the bottom-shelf is about half an inch shorter in the middle than on the sides. I'm not worried it's going to break (still have the TV on there), but it does make the unit look less pleasing to the eye. If it were up to me, I'd put up a middle wall, separating the bottom shelf into two compartments and bracing the middle of the top shelf.
At this price, I'd buy it again.

The description on Amazon isn't very helpful, and found this site to offer more assistance for the description of the product. (if Amazon blocks it goto google and type in the name of the product and do a little research).
[...] I did purchase this item from Amazon, and can suggest a few things when considering purchase. [...] This is an inexpensive alternative for a large screen TV stand, I am using it for a 52" Samsung and it is sturdy, pratical, and goes well with the room. So far after owning it for 1 week, it does not seem to be a dust collector. It's very easy to build. The laminent board finish is about 1/16 inch. The piece comes in good packaging, that should ease the buyer of potential damage to the product in shipping/storage. Unless your budget is around $1000+ to purchase something of real hardwood, this is a great inexpensive alternative that looks decent with an expensive TV and you will be well satisfied with the choice.

I was looking for an inexpensive stand to handle a 65" Samsung LCD TV; most were ridiculously expensive. When I ran across this one I almost passed it up as the price was "too low". I took the chance and glad I did. This is a very solid and impressive unit. It was so easy to assemble, my wife did it in under 5 minutes. The cable/wire channels in the rear of the unit were a nice extra touch helping to hide the TV cable-there was plenty of room to mount amp, dvd, dvr in the sections. Unit is a very solid and sturdy unit and an EXCEPTIONAL VALUE by Amazon

I have a Sharp Aquos 65" TV which I use with a Yamaha YSP-800 Digital Sound Projector and subwoofer. I was looking for one unit to hold both of these and look good too. I needed something low. This is 17 1/4 inches tall when assembled with the legs. The space between the top of the bottom shelf and the bottom of the top shelf is 10". I read the reviews, ordered it from Amazon. It was packed extremely well. It was easy to assemble. It holds the 65" TV with no problem and there's plenty of room for the Sound Projector and sub. I was also very pleased with the construction, very well thought out and a quality item.

I read alot of good reviews on this tv stand, and decided to take a chance on it. The reviews were right on! It is very heavy-duty and easy to put together. It was packed super well to prevent damage in transit. I was concerned about the feet as I thought they might be heavy plastic, but they are not; they are heavy aluminum and don't look cheap at all. This is a great product for the money and I would buy it again. Love the 63"!

After doing endless research on every TV stand under 250 dollars that Amazon sells, I choose this one for my 47 inch LG and assorted amps /speakers and players. I needed something that would hold all my gear safely , look halfway decent and not explode like the many models with 'tempered' glass shelves. I measured my gear , went to the Omni Mount website and checked all the stand dimensions, did the math and decided this was the one to try first.
Stand is packed well and although there was slight UPS damage to outer box, the contents were in perfect shape. All parts were included, every piece of hardware was wrapped by group in individual plastic bags and the instructions and warranty info were also right there. I would recommend another reviewers detailed instructions for assembly.( reviewer "Dakotamax2") I used them instead of the included instructions and I had this stand put together in about half an hour. The pieces fit together perfectly and just by taking my time and being careful it all went together easily. It took me longer to cart out the box and packing materials, mash them up and put them in the recycle can. As many have stated, this stand actually looks better in person than the pictures show. It IS press board which of course is sawdust and glue pretty much and has a thin wood veneer. The 'chrome' feet really are metal, not cheap plastic. The hardware itself is adequate , although I thought the 4 long tie rods that pass thru both sides could have been a bit beefier. Time will tell but so far it seems pretty darn sturdy. Over the last 4 days I have heard it settle a bit and make a slight popping sound. I am not overly worried it is on the verge of collapse or that my equipment is in imminent danger. The manual states you can place 150 lbs on the top shelf and 80lbs on the lower shelf so bear that in mind before purchasing. I have about 130 pounds on the top shelf, evenly distributed. (see the pic I uploaded to customer images to get an idea of what I mean) Within a few hours it DID bow a bit in the center. You have to really look for it, but I am pretty picky and noticed it very quickly, then measured and found the center had started to sag a little less than 1/8 of an inch. The published specs do say 150lbs, but I probably wouldn't feel comfortable putting a 55 inch plasma on this stand. The bottom shelf has my two amps and my players in the middle. I have not noticed the bottom shelf sagging as of yet and it has been 4 days since I set it all up. For the money I do think it is a good stand, but I also think the weight specs are a bit exaggerated. Maybe it won't break with that amount of weight, but it is definitely going to sag if you put anything close to 150lbs on the top shelf of this thing. If you have anything larger than a 40 inch LCD and can live with a bit of sag in the top shelf then I can't see why you wouldn't like this stand. If you need something that is perfectly symmetrical then I would suggest looking at something else. I can live with it for now as it holds all my gear and looks pretty nice, sag or no sag!

Detailed Assembly Instructions Below,

I received this item yesterday, and spent about an hour unpacking and assembling it. It looks great and matches well with other similarly manufactured items (i.e. IKEA dark brown finish).
We are using it as a stand for a Sony 60" DLP TV, and to house a large Onkyo A/V Receiver, DVD Player, DVR, and a few small peripherals. Assembly was easy for one person as long as you can decipher the diagrams (which is why I rated it 4 stars). In case you are like me and prefer detailed assembly instructions, please read-on: Assembly Instructions: 1. Unpack all items from main box 2. Place top panel topside down on floor so that threaded inserts are facing upwards (this is the large panel with 1 completely smooth/hole-free finished surface) 3. Thread the (4) long rods securely into metal inserts at exposed surface of top panel (knurled/textured ends of rods pointed downward) 4. Insert (4) wooden dowel pins into the remaining holes in the exposed surface of the top panel (feel free to lightly tap with butt-end of screwdriver to seat dowels completely into holes) 5. Align short, end panels with rods inserted in step 3, and then slide down over rods to seat against top panel (with enough background light you can look through the holes in the panels to gently guide the rods freely through the panels) 6. Insert (4) wooden dowel pins into remaining holes in end panels (feel free to lightly tap with butt-end of screwdriver to seat dowels into holes) 7. Lift bottom panel into position over the projected ends of the metal rods and lower into position (NOTE: strongly suggest you enlist a partner to help with alignment and to avoid scratching the finish of the panel - Alternate: cover exposed ends of rods with cardboard until you can ensure all are aligned with holes in bottom panel) 8. Once the bottom panel is seated over the dowels and rods, loosely thread the (4) "mushroom" type fasteners provided onto the ends of the metal rods and then tighten securely once fitted (it really helps to use a combo driver with an Allen tip - otherwise the provided tool will suffice) 9. Align metal legs over threaded inserts at corners of exposed cabinet base, and then secure with (2) provided screws at each (always install fasteners loosely at first, and then tighten once aligned) 10. Carefully align plastic inserts over open ends of legs, and then press into place to fit (I added heavy-duty, adhesive backed, felt pads to protect our wood floor when moving the cabinet around - this also makes it easier to move when loaded) 11. Lift/rotate the cabinet into upright position and then proceed with A/V equipment placement (plastic covers can be inserted into rear channel to organize wires as needed (I didn't use these since the components and a basket hid all the wiring) I decided to load the heaviest items toward the far ends of the (lower) component shelf to reduce sagging of the shelf material over time. Hope ths helps! |
