I would definitely buy another one of these. They fit the bill perfectly for a stand that is not intrusive into your room but still can hold enough equipment.

I've had two of these, one with a 32" lcd in my kids room. The space is a little limited for components. He has a cheap stereo, xbox 360, cable box and DVD player and still not cramped for space. The other has a 145lb 50" plasma mounted on it. We have a 45lb receiver, xbox360, PS3 on the bottom shelf, dvd player & sat box on the top shelf. There is a good bit more room for components than it looks like.

This thing is great because you can tilt the screen up and down as well as left to right. If you have the height off just a bit two people can readjust that without removing the TV from the stand.

The only complaint I can even think of is that there were some bolts missing from the package and the holes in the bottom of the back bone were filled with paint. I had to purchase a tap from the hardware store to clean the holes. I am sure omni mount would have replaced the missing bolts but for less than a $1 worth of hardware I just picked them up at the local hardware store. I believe there was a design change but they forgot to change the hardware packs. Both stands were purchased about a year apart and each is slightly different but they both had the exact same screw and bolt packs.

These sell locally for more than amazon lists them and they are hard to find. The stands I found in the big box stores don't hold a candle to this one for build quality and sturdiness. I was not happy with any of the stands I found in the local stores.

Like others who have reviewed this product I found the packaging to be inadequate. The box was dented, collapsed, and torn open. As a result a couple of small trim pieces must have fallen out and were missing. Some of the plastic wire guide pieces that go in the back of the column were broken as well.
The other problem I had was in assembling the unit. The glossy black paint was sprayed on the unit with no masking of the threaded screw holes. I am a strong adult male who lifts weights frequently and I just could not screw in the bolts, I became convinced they had sent the wrong size bolts. After spending about forty five minutes with various sharp tools scraping the paint out of the threads I was finally able to bolt the thing together. Having got it assembled I am happy with the product. It feels quite sturdy holding my 42" LCD screen. Note the arms on the universal mounting assembly can be detached and remounted toward the center if your tv has closely spaced mounting holes (it took me a while to realize this and get it connected to my tv.)
I can recommend buying this unit if it suits your needs as long as you're prepared for some frustration getting it put together.

I bought a brand new 60" Sharp TV. All new flat screen have holes on the top and the bottom of the back of the TV so it can be mounted. The brackets on this TV stand are too small for a 60" TV and do not reach the bottom hole. It was short over an inch!!! We didn't find this out either until we unloaded all the boxes and got half way through assembly!

The stand is beautiful. It took 3 shipments to finally get a stand with all parts having no dents and having all the parts included. I didn't enjoy the effort involved in repackaging the 2 returned shipments but once I got the stand assembled and the TV mounted it was worth the effort. It's a very sturdy stand and is quite sharp looking. I love how the TV hangs like it's mounted on the wall. Buy this stand. You won't be disappointed.

As others have said, this product is well designed and solidly built. Unfortunately, the packaging is abysmal and the box arrived split open with loose parts. Amazon sent me another one, which also arrived with the box split open. The packaging is simply too skimpy for something this heavy. That said, all of the parts were there and it worked well after I assembled it. If this had been adequately packaged I would have given it 5 stars.

I looked for a while for a sleek, modern unit determined not to have to spend $500. This omnimount fits the bill. Its very well constructed if not over-designed. They could have saved some costs on this thing but maybe they need to design it for heavy TVs too. Also, it says up to 50" on some sites but I looked at the specs and the mounting easily fit my 52" Sharp LCD.

watch out for shipping, I read about the crappy shipping box and its all true. i paid a little extra to buy through Amazon assuming any conflict about missing/damaged pieces would be easier to resolve. Th box cam torn to pieces but no problems inside

took about 1 hour to set up....I would say average difficulty...not 'easy'if you are not handy

My husband looked for weeks for a TV stand to fit our bedroom 50" plasma. This one fit all our size needs as the shelf needed to be a certain height. It's a little hi-tech looking but matches the finish on the TV, which is good. But, as the other reviews stated, it's a difficult thing to assemble. One of the screw holes on the base was not drilled right and we struggled (with a hammer) to finally get it in. Our HD cables are thick and we couldn't get the back channel cover to close completely. The cover was hard to place because the stand's against the wall. Makes changing cables a bit of a chore. NOTE---You need a LEVEL to properly put it together. Read the instructions and have patience. It did arrive sooner then expected which is good. We saw it on line for a cheaper cost just yesterday... but it was double the cost at a local retailer that sold audio/video furnishings.

Putting this together takes time and patience. The outcome is a strong, sturdy, elegant stand for my 40" Samsung.

The stand is easy to set up. It is very stable and sturdy and exactly what I imagined it to look like. You won't be disappointed ... its perfect!!
