So Easy!,

The Omnimount was extremely easy to install. My wife, who is not tech savvy at all, or remotely handy, was able to successfully use the supplies to line up our mount and put our 36" flat screen tv on the wall of our new home. It looks great and was painless! It was a little pricier than other mounts, but the simplicity makes up for it! One small problem, as with most wall mounts, is what to do with all the cords running from your tv to other devices and power outlets. It'd be nice if someone invented a mounting device that took care of that unsightly issue.

I acquired this mount to pin my computer monitor to an exact location on the wall. Unlike most other mounts, this one advertises to work with drywalls, therefore not needing to use a stud finder or imposing limits on location. I expected some extra engineering feat because of this (perhaps some sort of wall plate with multiple drill holes to spread the load), but this turned out to not be the case. The load will be secured only in four places. I don't think I'd attempt to hang my 42" Plasma on a drywall, but if you have a lighter TV (LCD) this may work for you. It did work very well for my 21" computer LCD.
The packaging is very compact and neat (reminds you of a certain Cupertino- based company); and instructions are simple (although in my package, the booklet refers to items as 1,2,3.. whereas in the plastic bags they are labeled as A,B,C... minor detail). If you are installing on a drywall, all you need is a power drill, everything else (including the drill bit) is included. If you're installing onto masonry or wood (studs) you need additional tools. Because there are four stubs to be individually fixed to the wall, you need to be careful to level and space them out correctly. To help you with this, there is a cardboard template that also includes a simple bubble level. My template was a little warped and the bubble level fell off at some point, so I wish this was made of plastic, not paper (and to equalize the environmental footprint, the packaging could be made of paper, not plastic!). Overall, as a trouble- free, thought-out solution for what I happened to have in mind, this was a winner. I'm only subtracting 1 star because of the cardboard template and my nagging thought that additional mount points would be necessary for carrying a heavier-than-average 42" TV.

Very well made but with one obvious drawback,

I've been installing commercial grade white boards and display boards for over 7 years. I've always used HILTI wall mounts for that purpose (their rated at 75 pounds per mount!) and so I immediately recognized that these Omnimount mounts use the exact same concept as the HILTI mounts. I'm impressed with how much weight they will sustain, although now that we're in the era of 30-40lbs flat screens these are actually provably overkill for most applications. These Omnimounts will absolutely support any flat panel you through at them (at least up to 42") easily enough.
Installation is very easy. The mounting system comes with a cardboard pattern to help place the mounts brackets in the correct place. All you really need is a power drill and a screwdriver. You can have this wall mounting system up in less than 30 minutes if you know what you're doing. Once in place, it provides a very flush mount with little to no wasted space behind the TV panel. Depending on the inputs of your particular brand of tv, this could present a problem for cabling. If your HDMI inputs point straight out the back of the panel, you'll need to make a pretty sharp right angle turn with the HDMI cable, which means you'll want a fairly flexible HDMI cable. The only downside to this system is that of viewing angle once the TV is installed. If you're installing it directly across from your seating arrangement and at mid-eye level, viewing angle wont be in issue. However, if you're mounting the TV up higher (for example above a fireplace mantle) these Omnimounts don't give you the flexibility of a more expensive mounting bracket that allows you to tilt the screen downwards. This isn't a failing of the Omnitmounts, but is a limitation worth mentioning. If you plan to mount at eye level (which is actually recommended for best performance from flat panels whether they're LCD or PLASMA), this won't be an issue. Overall this is a really great kit for the cost, especially if you plan to mount at eye level. At about a fourth of the cost of a full mounting kit, Omnimounts are a good alternative to higher priced options. 4.5/5 Stars

I loved the easy setup of this mount.
That said, the TV and situation I originally wanted to use this to mount was unsuited to this product. Because the back is nearly flush with the wall, you must ensure your power cable goes through the wall and is pre positioned along with the other cables. And more importantly, it is not a good choice of mounts if you will need to be swapping cables/components in and out of the back panel a lot. This is why we abandoned our original intended use for this mount. However, our second plan for the mount works fine, setting up TV mounted higher on a wall, with all the components down low, using 12' HDMI cables to connect the components to the TV through the wall. Of course the fact that it doesn't angle down makes it a bit of a pain for high wall use, but the room is large enough where the viewing angle is manageable. And this way the kids can change the DVDs and we don't have fingerprints on the screen. I wish EVERY mount was this easy to set up, and the price is MORE than right!

Setup is extremely easy. Dimension layouts are easy for me but I'm sure that some underachievers would have difficulty. As with all mounting brackets, you need to calculate distances from floor to bottom of TV, up to mounting device, up to the top of the TV, then up to the ceiling (If you want a centered picture). Once the calculations are compiled, setup is a piece of cake. Just screw the attachments to the wall and to the back of the TV and your ready to go. I also recommend that even if the tv only weighs 20 lbs, you should still go into the stud for added security. If anyone leans on it by accident, it will probably come off the wall because of the excess weight.

I installed the mount last night and tonight I found my 32" LCD hanging up side down by one of the four plastic supports. All other supports tore open and came free from the screws. The mount comes with massive screws, much bigger than needed to support the weight that the mount is rated for. Why design the mount with such large screws if the plastic supports are so cheap.

Purchased this item for my samsung un40d5005bf tv. Omni mount web page shows this will fit. Screws in kit are too short. Contacted omni mount by e-mail, response was that I needed longer screws. I like the design of this system and will save for a smaller tv that I am planning to purchase for my media room.

I personally probably wouldn't use this on a TV. I tend to like the full motion mounts. However, I had a 65" Smart Board (kinda looks like a whiteboard) I was mounting and the fact that these pucks could be placed anywhere seemed ideal. Because I was doing such an odd-ball mount job, I couldn't use the screws that came with it, but that was to be expected. It also cheaper than the official solution. (Well, if I hadn't lost the mount that came with it, that would have been cheapest, but I digress.)

I got this when it was still delivered by Amazon.com so it was a good experience as always. I don't know how the experience is when the product is not sold or fulfilled by Amazon.com (as it seems the case at the time of this review). I only purchase through Amazon when they store the product so I know all my customer service experience stays with Amazon. The product itself feels good, sturdy, and holds my 26" tv tight. I have read some other reviews that say it breaks, but as it was explained once, it may have just been a bad batch. Mine is still strong after one month. Installation is easy but a little tricky. Don't use the supplied level in the template, mine came out of level, I used my own and that's where it gets tricky. Also, I am a little OCD when it comes to things being level. Please be aware this is extremely low profile. That is the main reason I bought it, but it didn't play well for me. My TV, a Samsung LCD 26", has the power cable and cable connection protruding in a way that it didn't have enough clearance between the TV and the wall. These mounts are not adjustable so nothing you can really do about it. I was about to send it back, but I like it so much that I tried hard to make it work. My solution was to unscrew the lower left mount(where the cables are) from the wall, pulling the wall mount just enough to make it fit. It looks good. This specific mount is screwed against the stud, so I took that in consideration. If it had been the other side, which in my case was drywall, I probably wouldn't have done it. If that is ever your case, depending on your tv, I don't recommend you do this unless you know what you are doing. This could potentially put more weight on the other 3 mounts exceeding the recommended specs.

Unable to find these mounts in a local store I turned to the internet . Prices varied a lot but amazon was good . I used only two of the mounts to hang a 26 in tv on an RV wall Since I could only hit 1 stud with the screws I used a metal screw in wall anchor 1st in the wall and then installed the supplied mount screw. This would work very well in sheet rock as well. These anchors come in metal or plastic and have real aggressive deep threads about 3/8 outside dia. I plan to use the other two mounts to be able to hang the tv on on the out side under the awning when set up
