Flexibilty, functionality, and value.,

Putting together 5.1 channel home theater audio, I ended up with a bevy of used Gallo Accoustic Nucleus speakers and needed some way to get them to the right height at a small price. This Omnimount 5 pack sure hit the spot. These mounts can be used as wall or ceiling mounts (there's a little extra piece to use when ceiling mounting that you leave out when putting them on a wall. There are a bunch of included bolts of different threads and lengths to fit a multitude of speakers from Bose to generic box speakers. There's even an adapter for speakers without screw mount that require you to screw a mounting plate into the wood. They say they hold 8lbs but I ended up successfully mounting a 10lb center channel speaker with one. I'm a satisfied customer. Black nylon construction is nice looking and light weight.

Great Mounts, drywall anchors didn't work,

I think these are fantastic mounts for the price. I mounted all of them but one into studs and they don't budge. You have the ability to use these with an extender (included) or without. I am able to angle these any way I please.
The only complaint is the drywall anchors. I originally tried to mount these all using the drywall anchors so I could have them exactly where I wanted them. I have a smaller living room and am using these to mount the 4 rears in my 7.1 surround system so I was trying to get as much space between side and rear surrounds, which meant not mouting on studs. I used the drill bit sizes indicated in the instructions. Not one anchor would stay put, it wanted to got into the wall or pull out so I ended up mounting on the studs, except for one spot where there wasn't any at all close to where I originally wanted them. I used some anchors from walmart and they worked perfectly. The ability to angle and tilt the speakers in nearly any direction allowed me to overcome not being able to mount them exactly where I wanted them. Overall a fantastic buy!! If you are looking for speakers mounts these are the ones. Just buy a pack of 1/4" anchors and leave them unopened, if the one's included great, if not you won't have to stop and run to the store to finish your install.

I bought these to mount the satellite speakers for my Sony Home Theater System. They are not good. The screws that hold the speakers at the correct angle cannot be tightened enough to keep the speakers in the right place. With a minor bump, they droop. Spend the extra dollars and buy a more robust product.

The mounts are sturdy. I bumped into the mounted speakers while I was setting everything else up, and my heart about dropped each time it happened. But they're still strongly attached to the drywall.
It's also cool that you can rotate and tilt the speakers to point nearly any direction.

These seem like excellent speaker mounts, very sturdy.... but unfortunately they do not work with Energy RC Micro 5.1 speakers. The 1/4-20 bolt was not long enough to insert directly into the speaker and the provided keyhole bolts did not work with speaker keyhole. I think this says more about the speaker's mounting capabilities than the mounts themselves.

I recently wired a home theater system in my basement and was looking for a affordable but solid speaker mounts for my surround system. Yesterday, I installed these mounts in the ceiling and I think these hit the mark as far as what I was looking for. Holding it in your hand, they feel very substantial for being made out of plastic. They can tilt and swivel, although they seem to be in a better position for swiveling if installed on the ceiling. The provided hardware for installation worked well enough: the hardware for installing into the ceiling drywall seemed to hold extremely tight and the screws provided for attachment to my speakers (Polk RM6750) fit like a charm. When the speakers were attached to the mounts, it seems like the mount would hold them just fine and not fall or fall out of position under their own weight.
My gripes with these mounts are minor, but since mounts are something you generally don't install or adjust often it's not enough to lower their rating for me. First, adjustments are hard to get to once installed. When the mount is in its final mounting place, to adjust you need a hex key and the screws are out of sight so you have to adjust them by feel. Make sure that the mount is not attached in a hard to reach area because you might not be able to get your hex key in! Also, since these are plastic I worried about over-tightening the adjustments to the point where they would loosen over time; but so far they are hold the speakers in their adjusted position solidly albeit just a little loose. Overall, if you want an affordable speaker mount system I would say go with these as they are reasonably priced, hold the speakers quite well, and do the job. I'm sure if I spent the money (significantly more), I could get metal mounts that are easier to adjust and probably hold better. Since you won't adjust all that often if beyond the initial adjustment, these will do. You won't be disappointed.

I installed these for the back 4 speaker in a 7.1 setup, back two on the ceiling, side two on the wall
PROS: -Appears they truly can be setup at any angle (one visible hinge joint and two rotating joints at speaker and wall) -Numerous options for different OmniMount attachments to speakers -Included Allen wrenches, drill bits, and drywall plugs (I did not use plugs as I drilled into studs for maximum security; another review indicated they were not the best drywall inserts) CONS: -Could be lower priced, but I guess there's enough demand at this -Wish a couple more color options existed (better customization might justify the price) Looks fine against my neutral tan walls

Very well constucted, nice clean mounts. These mounts are carrying my Onkyo speakers, which are about 4/5lbs and measure roughly 5" X 14". These are very solid mounts.

I found these speakers easy to mount and sturdy enough to hold my Panasonic speakers and point them in the directions i wanted. i am not sure why others had a problem with this, you just need to use the allen wrench and tighten them down well.

These work for those that want little changes in direction. Theres an X Y axis, however for those that need very diverse settings, get the next step up omni.
However for these mounts, we were pleasantly surprised. Very easy setup, hold larger speakers well, and look very finished. |
