They aren't kidding around when they say low profile. It does provide a nice, finished look, but it does make installation more difficult. My tv (Sony 46" XBR LCD) has the inputs perpendicular to the wall and my original HDMI cables were a bit stiff to make the 90 degree turn. My inputs (power and video) from the wall are inside the rectangular frame, which meant that I had to run cables up and then down to access the tv inputs. You can't fit cable across due to the low profile. I had to buy a recessed outlet for the power as well. Not a defect with the product, just the nature of having such a low profile mount.

A couple other quibbles:
- My tv VESA mounts only allow for 1 mounting location for the hangers. This basically means that you can't adjust the height once you put the rectangular bracket on the wall. Just another example of why you should plan ahead, ensure that you have the height correct when installing the lag bolts. This may just be a limitation of my TV.
- The bolts used to attached the tv to the hangers are not easily accessed due to the design of the hangers. (Had to buy a flexible link for screwing in the bolts. Again, it may just be due to the design of my TV, but it could apply to yours as well.

I was thoroughly satisfied with this. It assembled easily, you could tell the parts were quality made, and it was actually a bit more complex of a mechanism than I thought it would be. The template was great.. and the instructions were pretty good. The only thing on the instructions was that when it says to put down the kick stands to install the cables.... there are little locking fingers on the bottom rail that may have been locked when you first put the TV on the top rail. so, you have to be aware of that to use the kick stands. Other than that... I'm very satisfied!

I used this mount to put up a Sharp 70" LED TV in our living room. It fits nice and snug to the wall, and has a handy kickstand system to prop the TV out if you need to get at the connections. The one issue is that when you are using w/ a TV that is larger than what the mount is rated for it can be a little difficult to get at the pulls that disengages the TV hanging bars from the bracket to pull it out and use the kickstand. A word of warning during install: this thing uses some big lag bolts to fix it to the stud, so make double sure you are at the middle of the stud when you drill your pilot holes.

Cons: The Kick stand is a little complicated to use
I was able to install the ULPT-L to the wall by myself with no difficulty. Attaching the brackets to the TV was also easy. The only problem I encountered was when I tried to use the kick stand feature to hold the bottom of the TV out from the wall to install cables. My TV is a Sharp Aquos 60" model. When I released the kick stand I was only able to tilt the bottom out about 6 inches. This is not enough to engage to kick stand locking mechanism or to install cables. The problem is the top of the TV immediately hits the wall when you move the bottom of the TV away from the wall. It is a problem with the pivot point being too close to the wall. When I tried tilting the top of the TV out (moving the pivot point away from the wall) I could not release the bottom kick stand.
I was able to get the cable installed because there was enough room to pass the cables through the wall and connect them since the connections are on the side of the TV.

Finally I figured out the trick to getting the Kick stand to work.
1. Unlock the Kick stand, pull down on the cords, and tilt the TV slightly out from the bottom
2. Now carefully tilt the TV down from the top, being careful not to lock the Kick stand in the closed position.
3. Slowly tilt the bottom out and then the top out until the top is out far enough that you can tilt the bottom out and lock the kick stand in the out position.
This will give you plenty of room to attach cables.

I would recommend this to friends

Someone I know recommended this item for mounting Flat screen TVs. The design made it easy to mount and the pivot function gave us easy access to the back connectors.

On first look I found the construction of this mount to be very sturdy and well-built. After assembling it further a plastic piece broke off from the "kickstand" (which holds the TV up for rear access once the TV is mounted). This however did not effect much more than adding a slight inconvenience when trying to use one of two kickstands for rare access. I simply have to manually position the broken kickstand when needed but it still supports the TV as designed.

There seemed to be many pieces to the puzzle of this mount when I was installing it but after reading the instructions all the way through I had a better understanding of how it worked. It then became less complicated.

All-in-all I am very happy with this mount. It was worth the money.

Overall, this mount is an excellent choice for those wanting to hang a flat panel TV close to the wall (I have an LED so having a "low profile" mount was critical) and also having the ability to tilt the TV forward for optimal viewing angle. I researched many mounts, and this one was the lowest profile (only 1.5" from the wall) that had the tilting feature, and the ability to adjust the TV horizontally after installation.

It is very well constructed and fairly easy to install. The installation template is very good, however the manual is very poor and difficult to follow (by far the only negative about this product). Customer service is also very helpful and knows their products well.

This is an excellent wall mount. Well designed and well made. Comes with everything needed to create a professional installation. The instructions could be improved, but if you are mechanically inclined, you should have no problem. Best mount out there. Sixth Ave had a great price and free shipping. 5 Stars!

this is high quality and sturdy, but I would think there would be more adjustments available to handle TV placements. (I couldn't adjust the vertical mount to tv to keep from blocking the outlet on my wall) I ended up having to purchase an adapter that caused the TV to be 2 more inches from the wall. Doesn't that defeat the purpose? (I had it professionally installed when I couldn't figure it out and they ended up going with the adapter...so it wasn't user ignorance)
