5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome book
This is an awesome book 104 pages of all Green Day. Being a huge Green Day fan I thouroughly enjoyed this book and didn't put it down until I finished. It's basically all about their lives and a biography of the band. It includes discography, tons of funny and awesome pictures from many concerts, award shows and just photo shoots. In the middle it has a whole section...

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great biography!, June 7, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Omnibus Press Presents the Story of Green Day (Omnibus Press Presents) (Omnibus Press Presents) (Paperback)
This is a great biography (as I have said in the title). It includes interviews from various magazines and newspapers and tells a lot of info about the crazy and insane stuff the members have done. It also tells about the members with mini (i guess you could say mini)biographies. Almost each page has a picture of the band and in the middle of the book there is a collage of color pictures of the band. The author even sometimes gives his veiws in a comedic way. It all fits well together. Most of The chapter titles are little spoofs of the song titles from previous albums, which I thought was creative when I first looked in the book. This is a must buy for a fan (if you ask me). Hey, and for those fans who have short attention spans it's a pretty short book.

This was a good book detailing how Green Day came to be. I especially loved all of the pictures. I would recommend this book for any fan, but if I could only buy one, I have to say that I think that Green Day American Idiots & The New Punk Explosion by Ben Myers is better.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Obsessed Fan's Opinion..., December 25, 2005
This review is from: Omnibus Press Presents the Story of Green Day (Omnibus Press Presents) (Omnibus Press Presents) (Paperback)
This book is great for refrances and to learn the basics of Green Day's history.
The layout and order is brilliant, the author has researched Green Day well, talking about the band's main inspirations and influences. The book contains a complete discography at the back and colour pictures in the middle, which are well set-out.
The main downside to the book is the author's apparent lack of passion for Green Day. It's also written as if Green Day could do no wrong with its music. It calls the Waiting video a "joyous, house-party themed video...and at the end, you just want to cheer" when even Billie Joe said "[our waiting video] was a total failure".
Overall, a good refrance book but for a more indepth, interesting read, I recomend 'Green Day: American Idiots and The New Punk Explosion' by Ben Myers.

5.0 out of 5 stars You will read this book., March 23, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Omnibus Press Presents the Story of Green Day (Omnibus Press Presents) (Omnibus Press Presents) (Paperback)
I am obsessed with Green Day, but I haven't always thought of them like that; when I first heard of them, it was around the time their album 'Shenanigans' was released, I think. At that time, I was really into Avril Lavigne. I still like her, but I don't like her THAT much anymore. Anyway, I heard of Green Day, and I automatically assumed they weren't any good. A few years later, American Idiot came out. I went out and bought it, and realised I was COMPLETELY wrong. And that was how I became obsessed with them.
But no matter how obsessed with them, while I found out a lot about them, I still didn't know a lot about them. I was a bit doubtful about reading this book, but honestly: You so should read this book. It is full of information, from their humble beginnings in squatters' basements to international stardom. It describes many hilarious incidents and it also describes their albums in-depth. It also describes their influences, and who they influenced, and it has the awesomest colour photo collage ever in the middle, as well as black-and-white photos throughout.

You will read this book.

I repeat: You WILL read this book.

NOW.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for all Green Day Fans, November 12, 2006
This review is from: Omnibus Press Presents the Story of Green Day (Omnibus Press Presents) (Omnibus Press Presents) (Paperback)
This book is the ultimate item to add to any collection of Green Day memorabilia, CDs, posters, and what-have-you. It entails a complete history of the band, as well as a little background on the members. It's not the gripping, heart-wrenching memoir that is Anthony Kiedis' "Scar Tissue" but it punches out information with the same verve and attitude as the band itself, keeping you interested and totally absorbed page after page. Simply dripping with little-known tidbits, it's certainly a good thing to have on any music lover's shelf.
I positively love this book, and love the band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, July 6, 2005
This review is from: Omnibus Press Presents the Story of Green Day (Omnibus Press Presents) (Omnibus Press Presents) (Paperback)
This is the ultimate fan must-have (along with all of their music of course). It tells the whole story of the band from the very beginning and is so interesting and good. It's got tons of details and facts and is really enjoyable to read also. It's written really well. It has loads of great quotes from all of the guys, not just Billie Joe. The design is cool with loads of different pictures over the years. I loved it.
