Product dimensions listed are correct: 13x19. But that is the closed or "folded" size. I had mistakenly thought that was the open "working" size. So I was expecting something much smaller than what I received. The cutting mat is 12x18. The ironing pad is also 12x18. When this thing is open, it measures 19"x26". Just make sure you have room for something this size. It velcro's closed, and has a nice handle for carrying. It will be great for taking to classes. But it's actually too big for me to use next to my sewing machine, which would have been nice. I do like it though, and maybe I'll order the smaller 8x11 size, as well.

Update: I've only had this thing for a week, and I am SO in LOVE with it! No room on my table, so I just toss it on the bed and cut some fabric without dragging out the big, heavy mat, or iron my fabric without dragging out the ironing board. So cool. What a time saver. Ironing pad is stable so iron doesn't wobble, and is thick enough that you don't have to worry about the hot iron damaging the bed/table/floor it's sitting on. It folds up and takes up NO space when I'm not using it. Don't want to be without this thing! (I purchased the little Sunbeam Hot-2-Trot mini-iron to use with it. Together they've made my life so much easier!) Now, I'm going to make a case for them.

She used to lug a huge cutting board to classes, but NOW this is all she needs: cutting, pressing, easy to carry and use, this is the answer. It's well-made, convenient, easy to set up. She loves it, and so do I when I'm helping her pack and unpack the car. This also works if you have to travel by airplane. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Pair it up with the Dritz mini iron,(the blue/white one) and you can have it all handy by your machine. Great for cutting out your strips, especially with fat quarters, and then a mini pressing station for pressing down those seams. I just love it. It beats having to go back and forth to the ironing board. So handy for quilting classes!

I bought this product originally because it was an economical way to get a pressing and cutting board in one for my quilting projects. I have limited space and I must say, this Omnigrid is amazing. I can pull it out when I need it. It's big enough to suit my needs and yet when I'm done with it I can fold it up and carry it (by the handles) to be put away. It's a lot less clutter than buying both separately. Another big plus is that I can carry it around wherever I am going i.e. a quilting class - it's lightweight, and fits easily in my car.

One thing I particularly like about this is that - although its lightweight, it's sturdy. So when I go to cut something with my rotary cutter on it, it doesn't slip and slide like other cutting boards I have used in the past.

This product is great for pressing fabrics and squares. One thing to be wary of is that if you are planning on making a queen-size quilt, then it might take quite some time to move and press it along the pressing board. But it is perfect for pressing squares (both small and large) and small pieces of fabric. I simply cut and then press - all in the same movement!

On top of all of that, I happened to be in Joann Fabrics the other day and saw the exact same thing for DOUBLE the price. It's quite the deal if you ask me. It made it to me in three days - with no extra or upgraded shipping. Very happy with this purchase.

I love this cutting & pressing station as it has helped my sewing become much more efficient and less complicated. I have taken it to sewing classes and used it in my super small sewing room when ironing small pieces or touching things up. I have also used it in different places around the house. One of the best parts is that I don't have to open the ironing board for a small or few small pieces. I have a mini-iron to maximize the use of this station.

First things, first - this really worked for me in my situation. I went from a big well equipped sewing room to splitting a room with my husband and he's hogging a lot of space. I hated have to walk around the ironing board, so I traded a friend my big ironing board one for a smaller one. Wrong move. Then I found this at Amazon.com.

When this arrived, I was surprised by the weight. It's not flimsy like you'd think, and for travel, it won't take up much room either.

The "station" sits on my desk in an L configuration - with the grid side against the wall, and the ironing pad laying flat. My iron is right next to it and I've had no problems at all. When I need to cut or trim my work, I just flip it around, cut on the mat, and then flip it back to the ironing pad, which I use more. Talk about having everything at your fingertips!

If you are ironing a huge piece of fabric, (of course) it will be slower than a traditional ironing board. But, I don't have an ironing board taking up valuable space anymore. Most of the time I just need to press (or apply stabilizer to) a piece of material and this is perfect for the task. If I need to trim or cut the material, I don't have to haul out my other grid -- it's just a flip away.

I looked at the smaller size, and decided to buy this larger one. I'm glad I did. It's closes with Velcro, has a nice portfolio cover with handles, and can be tucked away easily if you don't want it sitting out. This is now my new friend. :)
