Amazing Mount!!!!,

These mounts are the best available for ceiling mounts! Easy to install, and they don't require mounting into a stud. A drill bit is included if you have to drill into your speakers to intall the mounting plate. I was able to unscrew the keyhole bracket on my Polk Monitor 30's and use those holes for the mounting plate without any problem.
Once you have these attached to the ceiling mount, they are easy to maneuver so they can face any direction that you need them to face. After you have them facing where you want and you tighten the hex screw down, these mounts WILL NOT MOVE. The 20lb weight rating should be strong enough to handle almost any bookshelf speaker you can imagine. I bought 4 of these for my 7.1 setup and I couldn't be happier!

These Things (Don't) Rock!,

These turned out to be the perfect mounts for my application. I have unusually heavy bookshelf speakers (Aperion) that I wanted to mount for use as my rear speakers in a 7.1 setup. I had trouble finding sturdy and unobtrusive mounts that would support them and give me some flexibility in terms of positioning. My speaker company recommended these, so I gave them a shot. I needed to get the 20.0 ones (they have smaller ones with lighter load ratings) because my speakers were pretty close to the 20-pound limit. They mounted easily and firmly to my ceiling and attached to the back of the speaker using the included bracket with no problem. The best thing going for these is the ball socket. I knew from experience using Yamaha drums that have ball mounts for their toms that you could lock them into place and they'd stay there, even under heavy pounding. You can swivel, angle, and aim them any direction you want, tighten the allen bolt, and it will stay exactly in position. I can try to rock my speakers by hand and they barely move. After over a year in place at somewhat odd angles (pointing in and down), my speakers haven't slid (crept) a bit. In other words, they don't rock at all. In terms of utility, they definitely do rock!
Highly recommended for everyone who needs a sturdy, yet flexible heavy-duty speaker mount that can work on either the wall or ceiling.

The ceiling speaker mount was easy to install. I mounted a 12 pound speaker on the mount, which was designed to support up to 20 pounds. It held the speaker securely into position.

This was perfect for my b&w 13lb rear speakers.. very adjustable, solid, sturdy, and mount well to my plaster board ceiling with appropriate anchors.

I've using these to mount some reasonably large (6kg) speakers from a roof. They work very well, allow a lot of adjustment and look good. In 12 months they haven't moved at all. installation was very easy. just be sure to order one for each speaker.

I had some big "bookshelf" speakers I wanted to use as surround speakers. It takes some effort to attach these mounts to a supporting joist, but they are strong and the clamp is holding a heavy speaker in position (no sag).

mounted on a wall, they hold a speaker, but won't really hold the bottom of a speaker from resting against a wall, but i wouldn't expect them to. from the ceiling they work perfectly.

For some reason I thought when spending $30 that I would be getting 2 mounts to mount both of my speakers. I was surprised to see ONLY 1 mount. Now I need to decide if I will spend $60 to mount my speakers...

Screwed over by Amazon,
This review is from: Omnimount 20.0 Stainless Steel Speaker Mount (White) (Electronics)
The item was perfect, just not what I ordered or wanted. Amazon says I ordered the wrong item and I had to pay return shipping and a re-stocking charge. I sent Amazon a copy of the original order confirmation and it did not say ceiling mount anywhere, as it didn't when I ordered them!
I doubt that I will ever order from Amazon again as this was an expensive time wasting event that I will never want to repeat. |
