Simple Blood Pressure Monitoring,
This review is from: Omron Elite 7300W Womens Avanced Blood Pressure Monitor (Health and Beauty)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This is a nice, portable way to check on blood pressure.
There are two cuffs, one regular and one large sized. A gray carrying case holds the unit. The display is very large and easy to read. Showing blood pressure and pulse. There is a symbol indicating too much movement, which means you'll need do re-take your pressure. There is a symbol for irregularheatbeat and a warning symbol forhypertension. I'm thrilled with this product, the only fault I could find was it hums a bit loudly. Still it is a quality monitoring unit, much better than ones I've seen at drug stores. Highly recommended.

Taking your blood pressure couldn't be easier!,

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Apparently the Omron Women's Advanced Blood Pressure Monitor derived it's name because it has been clinically validated for use by at risk pregnant women who require regular monitoring. But the unit is not just for women - it can be used by anyone who needs to monitor their blood pressure.
Using this couldn't be easier. Once you determine whether you will be using the standard or large cuff; put the cuff on your upper arm with the Velcro fastener, plug the air tube into the digital monitor and press the start button. The unit will inflate the cuff and calculate your blood pressure and pulse. There are also indicators for hypertension, irregular heartbeat, and an alarm with two settings to remind you to take your readings or medicine. There is a feature that will average up to three readings taken within a 10 minute interval. The unit will store 84 readings and there is a "guest" setting which won't affect your stored readings. The display results are large and easy to read. Everything you need is in this package. The box contains: 1 digital automatic blood pressure monitor 2 cuffs (standard and large sizes) 1 illustrated Spanish/English instructional manual 4 AAA batteries 1 cuff guide (for sizing) 1 zipper case for storage I can't speak to the pinpoint accuracy of the unit; it seems to be in the vicinity of readings taken at the doctor's office. If you're consistent with applying the cuff, and taking your blood pressure on a regular basis, this unit will certainly be able to show you trends which you can discuss with your physician. Putting the cuff on your own arm is not difficult. There is always the possibility you could make a mistake with the cuff placement that could affect your reading but, if you make any big mistakes with the cuff, it will over inflate and display a large "E" for error. If you need to track your (or a loved one's) blood pressure on a regular basis, this easy-to-use, easy-to-read digital monitor makes it much less of a chore. Highly recommended.

A great improvement over my older Omron monitor!,

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
When I was first diagnosed with hypertension about 10-15 years ago, I bought an Omron Automatic Digital Blood Pressure Monitor (HEM-713C). This new Omron Elite 7300W is a much nicer monitor in many ways, but lacks some of the simple touches of my older monitor. I took my BP in both right and left arms with both the old and new monitors. I can't attest to battery life of the older model, as I haven't used it in a long while, so that may be part of why its readings were so inconsistent. I just put the batteries in the new model this week, so I know they are fresh. My readings with both monitors, which were taken within seconds of one another, are as follows for comparison purposes:
Old Monitor: Right: 134/59 - pulse 60 Left: 99/52 - pulse 59 New Monitor - Small Cuff: Right: 122/67 - pulse 63 Left: 112/63 - pulse 59 New Monitor - Large Cuff: Right: 110/60 - pulse 61 Left: 111/60 - pulse 59 As you can see, the new monitor was much more consistent among readings than the old monitor (again, though, that could be due to battery age). Also, I took readings with both the large and small cuff because someone had mentioned that they got a substantially different reading between the two cuffs and I was curious to see if that happened for me (for the record, the large cuff is much too long for my arm). Following are what I felt were pros and cons of the Elite 7300W when compared to the features of my old monitor: Pros: 1. While the cuff is filling, the air pressure of the fill slows down so that when the cuff is completely full, it is not was uncomfortable a squeeze as my old monitor, which could be painful. 2. Instead of holding at the highest fill point while it took the reading like my old monitor (which could be uncomfortable if the cuff was very tight), the Elite 7300W got to the highest fill point and then immediately released, so you got relief from the pressure. 3. The Elite 7300W turns itself off; so, for example, if you got a phone call while you were taking your pressure reading and forgot to go back and turn it off, you wouldn't drain your batteries. 4. This monitor stores readings and gives averages. It also has an indicator if it is unable to take an accurate reading due to an irregular heartbeat. It will even remind you to take your meds! 5. Whereas the edges of the cuff of my old monitor were "raw," the edges of the new monitor's cuffs were covered, which made the cuff more comfortable. 6. The monitor plus the instruction booklet plus both cuffs fits in a great zippered carrying case--love that! Cons: 1. My old monitor had an "on/off" button and a "start inflation button." The Elite 7300 only has a "start/stop" button. Therefore, the act of turning it on also begins the inflation. For purposes of writing this review, I wanted to just turn on the monitor to view the various displays, but I could not. In terms of general use, this probably won't be much of a hindrance. 2. My old monitor beeped when the cycle was done and your pressure reading was ready. This new one just stops. For those who are looking right at the monitor while they're taking their pressure, this is no big deal. I always look away so it was nice to have that beeping cue to let me know when it was done.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
The Omron Elite 7300W comes with 4 "AAA" batteries, the monitor, two size cuffs, cuff guide, zippered case and instructions.
When I opened the box, I was thankful that the batteries were included so I could get set-up right away. The cuff guide is included and it looks like it is just part of the packaging, so look for it and do not discard, a good cuff fit is a big part of getting an accurate reading. The Omron Elite 7300W is marketed for women but works for both men and women, that's when the two size cuffs come in handy. I skimmed over the easy directions, used the cuff guide to determine my cuff size, picked the correct cuff, attached it to the monitor and turned it on. It immediately started inflating. In a minute I had a reading. I took mine on both arms, a couple of times each. Wait 2 to 3 minutes between readings on the same arm. The reading seemed to be accurate and run with what my blood pressure normally runs. I tested my husband and Mom also with the same accurate results. The monitor is programmable with date, time and memory so you can get an average of your readings. It also has an alarm that you can set to remind you to take your medication. Overall, the monitor is very easy to use and more importantly gives an accurate reading. If you are looking for a good blood pressure monitor, I recommend the Omron Elite 7300W.

Highly rated by comsumer reports, but mine read 14/11 points above medical equipment at a fitness center, fire station and doctors office.
Manufacturer wanted me to mail it to them and pay a $5 fee to have them check it out. I just exchanged it for a new one from amazon. (Thank you Amazon) The new one also reads high 10/10 over professional equipment. So I'll keep this one since it's at least consistant and just subtract 10 points from each reading to estimate my pressure.

Good quality and convenient.,

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I'm the primary caregiver for my elderly mom, and in order to monitor her vital signs -- blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate -- I obviously need a good quality blood pressure monitor. I've used Omron's model HEM-780NC, which comes with one cuff rather than the two that the model I'm reviewing comes with, and which is a bit too large to be conveniently portable, but which is otherwise excellent quality. When I take my mom to the doctor, I want to be able to bring her blood pressure monitor so I can compare its reading with the nurse's reading, and I wanted a monitor I could bring when I take my mom to visit relatives who live 500 miles away. The Omron Elite 7300W fills the bill. The smaller (standard or medium size) cuff is the right size for my mom, the unit is accurate, and is small enough to make it convenient for travel. (I wish it came with and was designed for use with an AC adapter in addition to batteries, but it can supposedly take approximately 300 readings on a single set of batteries, so the fact that it cannot also operate on AC power is not that big a deal.) The medication reminder alarm that this unit includes is also a plus. This monitor is easy to use. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and taking readings couldn't be easier. When I asked a physician about what kind of blood pressure monitor to get for my mom, his only advice was, "You get what you pay for." I would say that the Omron Elite 7300W, like the Omron HEM-780NC, is an excellent, high quality unit for the money.

This blood pressure monitor gives reliable readings in under 30 seconds. In video, an actual reading is being recorded, this reading is par to the readings my doctor has given me, so it is accurate in our opinion. I recommend this highly

I received the set today and took mine and several of my various sized female friends BPs. It comes w/ 2 cuff sizes, but the larger size was not used. The cuffs are sturdy, well made and have the metal bar to ensure it is properly tightened. I can't really notice how they were specifically fashioned for a woman (I would have selected a different color than gray, maybe lavender to help calm). They should hold up for many years use. The heavier than expected sturdy monitor (very easy to read w/o reading glasses) quickly provided accurate measurements without over constriction of your upper arm like other self-inflating BP cuffs I've tried have done. This is an important feature for elderly persons with easily bruised skin. What I think is most important is the specific directions it gives for preparing for your BP to be taken (no smoking, caffeine, exertion, feet flat on floor, use left arm, etc.) and the correct procedural placement. I've been a RN for a long time (yes old school, but only so far back as to wear hats and white uniforms) and one of my pet peeves is the incorrect manner in which my own BP is taken when having my annual check up. I even had it sloppily taken by a NP, which really perturbed me and yes, I tactfully suggested the cuff needed better placement for accuracy. The only reasons I care is to prevent a brief MD lecture (you're a nurse and know what you SHOULD be doing),improper prescribing of medication based on false results, and when the insurance companies review your MR you want them accurate so your self insured rates do not increase. Another nice feature is you can take this monitor to your MD appt. and show the stored results in the event of "white coat syndrome." I've purchased this Omron brand for several pedometers (yes given as exciting gifts) and a hand held fat analyzer (all on Amazon) that I love to share its use w/ friends and long-term clients for educational purposes (or a good laugh and/or sigh). All of my Omron products have held up well past their warranty period so I expect this item to faithfully work for many years to come. Almost forgot to mention that the storage case is well sized and appears quite durable. I'm very pleased and will update this review if my opinion changes.

I never thought I'd be getting a BP monitor, but my wife and I are getting older (but not old) and I figured it would be a useful tool to have around. It is a lot more convenient than going to the pharmacy or grocery store and taking your BP in one of those "chairs." More accurate too!
As of this writing, Amazon is offering deditcated electronic BP monitors at prices ranging from $23 to almost $1000. The 7300W falls into the low end of that spectrum at around $75, but is certainly not a cheap product. Both my wife and I tested it out found it to be very accurate. It comes in a compact case and is easy to set up and use. Just slip on the appropriately sized cuff (comes with 2), insert the tube into the unit, and turn it on. It is fast and the readings coincide with the range of our previous readings, so I am fairly confident in them. It has more advanced features that the manual explains well (in several languages) but I'll explore those later. When finished, it packs up neatly in its case. Very easy to take with you when traveling. As I noted, both my wife and I used it. I suspect the "Womens" moniker is just marketing. The larger of the two cuffs would fit my male arm even if it were twice the size. A good product and certainly one to consider if you are in the market for a blood pressure monitor.

I regularly am required to take my blood pressure readings. This is one of the easiest to use and MOST COMFORTABLE. It tracks your readings and will give an average, which my doctor finds most useful. If you need to order one or plan on replacing the one you already use, this is THE ONE to buy!
