Omron Blood Pressure With Hyper Det Monitor

The Omron HEM 711AC automatic blood pressure monitor is incredibly simple to use. Simply place the cuff around your upper arm, attach it to the monitor. Push on/off, wait a few seconds, and then push start. It inflates and deflates the cuff automatically, and then displays your systolic and diastolic BP and pulse rate. It will store multiple previous readings (up to 20 I believe) and runs on either AC (adaptor included) or AA batteries. It was also accurate within a couple of mm of Hg when compared to the sphygmomanometer in my doctor's office. I have had mine for a couple of months now, and have no complaints.

Like many people, having my blood pressure measured in a doctor's office usually results in an artificially high reading. After my most recent visit to my family physician he recommended that I buy a blood pressuse monitor and measure my blood pressure at home every day. At first I bought a monitor which measures blood pressure at the wrist, but I had difficulty getting consistent readings with it. A friend who is a retired physician recommended that I get an upper-arm-positioned monitor and specifically recommended Omron, so I bought this HEM 780 monitor. I'm very pleased that I did. The readings with this monitor are much more consistent than those obtained with the wrist monitor and, as I suspected would be the case, are significantly lower than values obtained in my doctor's office. The monitor is very easy to use and functions completely automatically once you turn it on and press the start button. After each measurement it digitally displays both the systolic (higher) value, diastolic (lower) value, and the pulse plus the date. Furthermore it saves these values sequentially for the 90 most recent measurements -- a real convenience for comparing values over time. The monitor operates with AA bateries (which I prefer for convenience) or, for economy, with an AC adaptor which is included. I highly recommend this product.

Great device. Easy to use, comfortable and appears accurate as compared to my physicians readings. I like having the average of three readings calculated as well as the memory for tracking AM and PM readings.

If you want a home BP cuff, consider this one.

I bought this for my pregnant daughter. She had a blood pressure issue with her last pregnancy and I didn't want her worrying about anything. It works great and she is very pleased with this purchase. Sometimes I buy things for my daughter and she wonders what I was thinking, but not with this monitor. She really likes it.
