I have purchased these in the past. I bought one in 1995 that still works, with years of frequent home use (every day or two).
I bought two large cuff units a couple of years ago. The first one worked about 18 months and the cuff ripped and the bladder broke due to flimsy construction. The second one has worked erratically for six months, I think because the gage is no good.

Omron customer service said I was out of warranty and out of luck.

Apparently, they changed manufacturers or their quality control unit was deleted.

I said, "but this is clearly a manufacturing defect".
Omron customer service: "can't help you."

ME: "Well, I won't be buying any omron products any time soon."

This would be a good unit if they had not made the pressure release valve so CHEAP. It is getting worse each time it is used. I purchased this for my elderly mother to be able to take her own manual blood pressure as the electronic units do not work on her. I thought at first it was just a bit touchy and she would learn to use it, but even I (and I am a nurse) am finding it impossible to use. It either doesn't release air at all or it goes down way too fast. It is getting looser and less efficient with each usage. Will probably have to just throw it away and purchase another model. Too bad because the rest of the design works well.

The ball kept falling off the hose so it was not usable. I called Omron directly and they gave me a refund so they
stick by their product.

This is the type of blood pressure kit that I like. You have to put the pieces together, but when you do, it's all one piece. The two piece types are a bit harder for me to handle especially when I'm taking my own blood pressure. The only thing I don't like about the unit is that the ear pieces are a bit small for me and go inside pretty far and hurt my ears. Luckily I have an older stethoscope that I swapped the ear pieces with so I'm ok. My suggestion for the company is to ship different size pieces for the ears and let the customer choose which size fits best for their ears. That's what they do with ear buds and it only seems like common sense here. Seems to work fine for taking blood pressure. for myself and my wife.

I've had this set for about 9 months, and I use it almost everyday in my EMT class at school. Two months in, I could no longer tolerate the poor quality and uncomfortable fit of of the stethoscope so my parents purchased me a new stethoscope (an ADC adscope 615). I gave the stethoscope to my younger sibling and she loves it. It's the perfect quality for a young child who merely wants to play around with it.
As for the BP cuff, I really liked it until a few weeks ago. It's made of a soft fabric and it's very comfortable, but lately the pressure release valve has become very loose and seems to only lock shut or release all the air at once. This makes it quite difficult to get an accurate reading. Prior to this issue, I felt as though the BP cuff was very accurate.
I only paid twenty dollars, so I don't feel as though I was cheated. I bought a cheap set, and I received a cheap set. I'm currently upgrading to a new, more expensive cuff and I'm hoping that it holds up to daily wear a little better.

My first time with the meter connected! I'm right-handed, and due to previous injury, can't take BP reading on left arm, so it is a bit difficult for me to get it on. Just takes time in my situation.... But otherwise, it's worth the money for anyone who wants an accurate reading. Be sure you know how to use a manual BP cuff so you get accurate readings. Take it with you to the doctor's office and have the nurse/doctor/etc show you how to use it. Don't pump it up rapidly but do pump it up a bit higher than your normal top number. Listen carefully for the sounds... Taking it with you will be a plus, because you can show them how you do it and they can tell you if you are doing it correctly. You'll get the hang of it.and be thankful for having it so you know what your BP is 24/7! Good health to you~~

This thing kills your ears. I mean, agony. I have two other Omron units and they correlate with each other. They are older but seem to be in fine working order. This is giving me +10 on systolic and diastolic. Maybe I got a bad one or maybe the other two are inaccurate. Regardless, the pain in the ears is horrible. This will go back.
