Book Description

Book One of Two (Watch for Beyond 4/20)
Out of desperation, Chelsea enters a platonic “dating” contract with John Keller, millionaire tycoon and much older man. After losing her funding for school, Chelsea needs the money for tuition to finish her final year, or else have to return home and face the man who nearly destroyed her heart.

Uninterested in a committed relationship, and believing he has found the perfect protégé to help groom for the business world, John finds their “arrangement” ideal. Chelsea will serve as a smoke screen of sorts as she attends social functions associated with his business.

As the contract stipulates, they begin and end on 4/19 – no exceptions. After a year together, though, and as deepening feelings complicate what is supposed to be a business relationship, will walking away really be as easy as signing her name to a contract?

Note from the author: In this story you will encounter a young believer who has true faith but not so much trust. As much as Chelsea loves and believes in God, her journey to be truly close to Him takes time and develops on into the sequel, Beyond 4/20. For John, a cynical man who turned from his faith in pursuit of “more”, Chelsea’s character and integrity becomes a beacon home.

Watch for John and Chelsea's story as it continues in Beyond 4/20. In this sequel, their deepening relationships with God and with one another will be what gives them strength to endure life's most difficult challenges.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good story. Well written April 24, 2014
By C
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Although the ending was predictable, the book was very well written and the story was engaging. Characters were well developed. Initially, I was surprised that the book was as long as it was considering that I knew how it would probably end however I enjoyed the characters so much that I found that I was glad that it continued because I did not want it to end.

Some other reviewers have noted that the story line is unrealistic -- that is true but this is also true of many other fiction books. Personally, I read fiction when I want an escape so unrealistic is okay for me. For realism, try a biography.

One other reviewer was disappointed because of too many mentions of sex. I consider myself to be a strong, evangelical Christian and I did not find this to be the case so I guess this is a matter of perspective.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pros and Cons April 3, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a difficult review to write, truth be told. I enjoyed the story and the characters a great deal but I can't say that I would suggest this book. There are too many mentions of sex and too much touching in my opinion. The leading lady is a Christian and stands by her beliefs in the face of temptation and that is something I love but the ending went into the bedroom. That is the best way I guess I can say it, so that ruined it for me. There are many Christian romance books out there that don't do that and they lose nothing by staying clean. A good story is a good story and this one could have been great if the author would have stayed well away from that line that goes into the physical. I am a born again Christian and I try to stay away from books, movies and anything that will put images or words in my thoughts that do not need to be there and that I would feel uncomfortable knowing the Lord is hearing, so I am very careful with what I read and suggest to others. This author has a lot of talent and I would love it if someday she wrote something I can read without worry. Anyway this is my honest opinion.
Sincerely, Kaysie.S

4.0 out of 5 stars Touching Christian Love Story March 22, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Pros: A heartachingly good love story unfolds between an uncoventional couple that you'll want to witness.
Cons: It took a while to get into the story and at times seemed too wordy

Overall, this is a truly touching story that pulled me in and engaged my heart.

Anyone that ever has had a broken heart can identify with this story but also may be able to come into a understanding of their own relationship and the reasons life happens to us and how we effect life.

Plot and characters likeable. No spoilers here! A clean and sweet romance. I keep thinking there will be a sequel as the author leaves the door open for it.

Enjoyed book but too repetitious. Same story chapter after chapter. She loved him, he loved her but age made a difference.

I felt like things were repeated over and over again. Good story but book could have been half the length without out all of the repetition.

As totally as unheard of as my ability to fall speechless, as was this a "true" love story. Danielle Steele comes to mind with no disrespect to Ms. Heaton, but quite the opposite. Read more
