About the Author

I grew up in the Appalachian foothills of north Georgia, spending summer evenings on the front porch listening spellbound as grownups told tales of local events, including stories of the supernatural.

Storytelling has been a big part of my life ever since. As a small child, I often entertained myself by imagining exciting stories, even before I could write. Now, when I enter a story world and watch the characters act out an interesting or exciting tale, I write down what they do and share it.

But my stories don't fit the accepted genre rules. And since I have to tell what a story's genre is when I publish it, I pick one that seems closest. But, oh, how I wish the publishing venues had an option that would fit: Higgledy-Piggledy Genre.

Fallon McKniere is a character you can't help rooting for. She's a member of America's working poor. Employed as a convenience store clerk, she can barely afford the rent on the rundown trailer she shares with her mentally ill mother. In order to put food on the table, she salvages items past their expiration dates from the store's dumpster. Her malnourishment is plainly evident on her already petite stature. However, beneath the fragile exterior is a girl determined to survive.

How did Fallon find herself in such dire straits? When she was 6-years-old, her father allegedly committed suicide after the Navy discovered he was embezzling money from weapons sales. An audit trail led back to orders containing his signature. His body was found on the Berryhill Road property he had purchased with the stolen money for a family home.

The disgraceful actions of her father made Fallon and her mother outcasts in their small Florida town. Her mother could not find decent work and fell into a deep depression refusing to leave their tiny trailer. Fallon became an outcast and ended up dropping out of school. While her mother drifted into a child-like state, Fallon shouldered the burden of trying to make ends meet.

Donovan Pfarr, an airplane mechanic at the local Navy base, finds his life upended when he discovers his blond bombshell of a wife in bed with his friend. After filing for divorce, he succumbs to drink and despair. However, a random act of kindness by Fallon knocks him out of his self-absorption. Working the night shift at the store, Fallon, who has nothing, pays for Donovan's purchase when he realizes he has left his money at home. By doing so, Fallon is brought to the forefront of Donovan's consciousness.

On BerryHill Road is excellant, full of surprises and twists. I have read all of Tommie Lyn's books, and so far I have not been dissapointed. In fact I can't wait for her next book to come out.
I loved Fallon, the main protagonist, and felt a great sympathy for her. As I read I became more and more involved, in fact at times I felt strangely emotional, which is a credit to this author's excellant writing ability.
She knows how to draw her readers into the story. The writing is clear and discriptive, not one of her characters is a throw away, each one plays an intricate part in the story.
This is a fast moving and exciting book, with some wonderfully touching and poignant moments, I really didn't want it to end, and would recommend it to any one who enjoys a good thriller. It would make a great movie.
This is an author to watch, a rising star among thriller writers.

This book was a touch of fresh air. I loved it. I found myself getting engrossed in the key character's life and I felt sympathy, sadness, gladness and just felt as if I knew each and every character in the book. It had mystery, murder, love, and was so good I didn't want to put it down so I read it in one day and was hungry for more. A sequel?????? Maybe a series??? Worth the read for sure. I am now reading another book by the same author. An up and comer, she is very good at her craft.

I was turned on to this book because I met the author... well actually i took her picture but anyway she told me about her books and thought I would give them a try I have only read this one so far, but oh my gosh, I couldn't put it down. The day I got it the book, I started reading and stayed up that night til four in the morning reading. I just couldn't stop it was a book I was involved in and I couldn't walk away until the end. It is a book that keeps you involved even though you are pretty sure what is going to happen, you still have to read it to make sure that is what happens.

Some stories whisper to you, others shout. This one sings. I absolutely loved the author's voice in this book. I loved the story, the language, the pacing, the twists, the problems, the solutions. Most of all, I loved Fallon. I couldn't help rooting for her every step of the way, even when she made poor decisions and did/said things that pised me off. And I loved Donovan.

Okay, what didn't I love? I think the romance got a bit in the way. Lyn might've gotten this across with a lighter hand, but maybe that's just me and maybe I feel like I have to nitpick to find anything wrong with the story.

A highly recommended read. A solid 5 stars and an author I'll be reading more of.

A conspiracy to kill Fallon's father has put her life on a course that no one could have predicted, if they'd cared to. At 23, she has been abused, neglected, and ignored for most of her life. She looks like a delicate flower, but her heroic heart makes her an oak tree. Fallon will be a character who makes a lasting impression on you. Her story is worth reading and recommending. I couldn't put this book down once I started it.

A Family member of mine (Samantha Fury) recomended this book to me for my New Kindle I got for Christmas. I immediatly got it and enjoyed it very much. Fallon is such a likable character, she's been through a lot and she's just a good girl. I liked Donovan's character a lot as well, he and Fallon make such a cute pair. This was a great read, and I'm excited to read other books by Tommie Lyn.
