5.0 out of 5 stars Insightful, historical and a fun read April 18, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The book details the qualities that made Juliette Gordon Low a unique and positive force in the lives of so many girls. I liked the organization of the book, which weaves the chronology of Low's life together with relevant life lessons. The author incorporates many funny and insightful anecdotes about her own experiences as a girl scout troop leader. The end result is both entertaining and inspirational.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book! May 29, 2012
Format:Paperback
As a co-leader of a girl scout troop I have to say that this book provided me with a ton of additional insight into the woman behind the overall organization. On top of this though the author brought forth some very humorous anecdotes about her own experiences as a Girl Scout leader. I could relate on some of the same experiences (at least some of them) and I have some others that I would have added if I had written the book myself. What I liked most was the fact that the book was so well researched and it brings the reader so much closer to the organization as well as to the history behind it and how all of this fits together into the lessons that the Girl Scout organization stands for.

1.0 out of 5 stars How Did This Book Get Published??? April 14, 2013
By : )
Format:Paperback
This book contains plenty of interesting history on Girl Scouts, but the grammar and sequencing are SOOO bad, I would never let my child read it for fear that she would believe it is correctly written. I don't understand how this manuscript ever made it off the editor's desk! The only reason I can think of is that they needed something quick when the 100th anniversary came around and just passed it through to be published.

The shame is that this author is making lots of money from this mess because we Girl Scout moms want to encourage these honorable traits in our children and show appreciation for their Troop Leaders with a nice gift. In my opinion, there are several other titles about Girl Scouts that would be better choices.
