4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant Free Song of the Day, July 21, 2009

I'm sure there are plenty of people who will love this song. I found Amazon's description "Try it if you like Jason Mraz or Colbie Caillat" to be pretty accurate, though I'd add Corinne Bailey Rae (it's very similar to her song "Put Your Records On"), Brooke White, and maybe even Jamie Cullum to that mix.

It's a nice summery kind of pop song about being happy after a break-up. "I'm feeling good, now that you are gone, I'm dancing, with my records on..."

I do really like Aimee's voice. The whistling parts fit, but the part where there are "back-ups" repeating the words I find annoying, and don't think it adds anything to the song. Fortunately that's just a small part. The song is pleasant but formulaic. Nothing too original. I would probably rate it 3.5 stars if I could.

This is an upbeat, cheerful song - a lot of fun to listen to. Ms. Allen's voice and style are folksy without being kitch. Listen to it; I found the song well worth downloading and look forward to hearing more from Aimee Allen.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ugh, July 22, 2009
This review is from: On Vacation (Album) (MP3 Download)
Pretty pathetic music. The song is certainly worth what you have to pay for it- nothing. She "performed" at Rally for the Republic but it wasn't clear to many of the attendees what her message was.
