Finding the Christmas killer, April 28, 2009
A sweet, elderly woman is killed on Christmas Day with no apparent motive. Another elderly man is later killed, and a woman's cat is shot at. Detective Neil Alexander tries to piece together the crimes with the aid of his former girlfriend and reporter, Kate Richards. The subplot involving Neil and Kate is good, since he's a new Christian and they broke up over his insistence that abstinence isn't all it's cracked up to be. The plot eventually reveals the motive (which is a neat twist) behind the killings. Davis also wrote another Christian suspense novel, "Witness", which is also very good. This book is a good fireside read.

Intrigue, murder, romance & mystery wrapped up all in one, July 23, 2010
My husband is a Deputy so I really got into all the investigation of the murders, etc.
Neil, a Dectective, runs into Kate, a Reporter, who he had broken up with the summer before. She was a Christian then and he wasn't. But he is now.
Neil hasn't been a Christian for a long time and thought it best not to reopen a relationship. Kate was staying with her sister and brother-in-law, Neil's boss.
God has a way of bringing a relationship together if it is in his plan.
As a person who married a guy who wasn't a Christian very long, I could see God at work here and relate to it. I've now been married 31 years.
I feel a lot of young people who are just looking for a relationship would benefit to read this book and see what happens when one goes by looks on the outside of a man instead of the inside. Also most young people are just embarking on a career and can profit from reading this book.
The ending was quite a surprise and will leave you weeping for awhile. I won't give that away. You'll have to read it for yourself.
