Strong but heavy lock.,

Lock is very sturdy and has quality steel construction. However it is a little long so if you have a small frame, chances are you won't be able to hook it onto the top tube. Since it is so long this also makes the lock very heavy. The locking mechanism jammed about a month and half after using it. However, Onguard's customer service was very good and they promptly sent me a new one after sending defective one back. Overall, a durable lock for the everyday bicycle commuter.

Exactly what I needed.,

OnGuard makes the best bike locks that I have seen and their prices are about the same as other brands. This particular bike lock has dual locking cylinders and would be virtually impossible to break. The quality is excellent and the lock comes with a full set of five keys.

Beware the CRAPTASTIC mounting bracket,

This u-lock is pretty heavy, which is to be expected. But the mounting bracket is made of really cheap plastic, so it only took a week for the bracket to break off. Totally useless piece of crap. The u-lock itself is solid though. Just be aware that you're going to have to carry the u-lock in your bag.

Not fixed well,

It cannot be fixed on the bike very well. But, it is still not a bad choice, when esp you need a bigger U-lock.

Solid security,

This Bulldog lock is solid as a rock and virtually bulletproof. The only drawback I noted is the clip attachment for carrying the lock on your bike: Attaching is not too easy, and the weight of the lock (good) adds to your overall bike weight (bad). I'd just leave it locked up at home base and forget the carrier...

Great lock, not-so-great mounting,

The OnGuard Bulldog LS 5009 Bicycle U-Lock has been working great so far. No problems whatsoever. Lock is sturdy, and smooth to operate. I appreciate the extra set of keys it comes with. Mounting mechanism though is hard 2 work with. Once mounted, it's hard to release without a lot of effort. It definitely needs a better design. Also, their "anti-theft protection offer" of $1501 is useless, because, if I understand their legal terms accurately, the offer is only valid when someone breaks the lock with their bare hands or tweaked the locking mechanism to unlock it! Come on, how many criminals out there will spend time trying to snap a 13mm hardened steel bar with their bare hands (or teeth?)! But I understand the company's predicament as well. In any case, the lock itself is far better than a cable lock, because anybody can cut a cable with a bolt cutter ( I had to do it 2 my own after I accidently tripped the lever to permanently lock it!). Definitely recommend it. God bless you.

I like it because:- its cheap - is just long enough that i can lock my front tire, back tire and frame with a post or something - better than carrying an extra chain for the front tire - comes with lots of keys (5)? and a master key with a useless built in light I don't like it because: - a little heavy - but i guess thats to be expected - the locking unlocking mechanism isn't as smooth as I would have hoped takes a couple of tries sometimes, sometimes works perfectly

a big and secure U-lock,

I think this U-lock is more secure than most of the U-locks I have seen around campus. When my last bycicle was stolen two months ago I start to think about the methods thief use to steal bycicles and I just think we (users) sometimes are silly, we buy skiny locks to protect our stuff and they can easily be broken, we also secure the bycicle to fragile fences or mesh... so the lock is ok but the thief can break also the fence right?!Please buy a good U-lock and be wise in the proper use of it! This is a good lock, thick and with a key system not easy to break, it also come with 5 keys and a code you can use to request copies if you lost the keys, it is a little heavy and big so I dont recommend it for small bycicles.

Lock jammed after a month and a half,
This review is from: OnGuard Bulldog LS 5009 Bicycle U-Lock (Sports)
I bought the onguard U lock after a thief cut my cable lock and made off with my brand new bike. It is heavy, but easy to use. I was very happy with it for a month and a half until one day I tried to unlock it and it no longer worked. Key only goes in half way. Luckily it was not on my bike at the time.

Decent Lock,

The Lock is a bit heavy, and its pretty long. It seems sturdy and safe, but I don't know whether someone tried to break through it, so I can't say. I wish I paid a bit more for the smaller OnGuard Lock, probably easier to carry.
