5.0 out of 5 stars Melting mellotron & crying guitar with close harmony vocals, July 10, 1998

From the opening Mellotron chord through the haunting recorder solo of "She Said", John Lees strong vocals and crying guitar make this a memorable start to a classic album. Following the powerful intro is the bluesy "Ball & Chain", a fine work of tormented vocals and passion. The whole album is a must for fans of the Mellotron and BJH both. Little heard these days - why?

5.0 out of 5 stars Heady days!!!!, September 14, 2005

Great to have this album again and enjoy the band that was often seen in the Bromley and Gravesend area, complete with Orchestra, "She Said" is an absolute masterpiece, the guitar, bass line, drums, absolutely faultless in my view........take a trip back to a time when musicians did not just prance around with headsets, lipsinking other peoples somgs.......

5.0 out of 5 stars Early 70's favorite, January 4, 2009
This review is from: Once Again (Audio CD)
Excellent album including the brilliant Galadriel and powerful She Said, the former much beloved of those of us who were Tolkein readers in the early 70's! The band, although never a major force in terms of musical sales, were craftsmen who were able to reproduce their original studio material at a very high quality on stage. Caught these guys once at Manchester's Free Trade Hall - one of the best sets I ever saw. Interesting that they were supporting some band whom I've long forgotten! Their use of the mellotron was groundbreaking in those days before Moog synthesizers. How they filled even a large concert hall with orchestra-like sound was unforgettable. I have a vinyl copy of this - one of the first quadraphonic albums released. Sadly, the sound quality didn't quite match the technological hype!
