5.0 out of 5 stars Chaquico Takes It To A Higher Octave -, October 2, 2000

Craig Chaquico's fourth effort is a total delight. This time, the bay area guitarist is accompanied by some familiar sounds in smooth jazz - Dave Koz, Richard Elliot and Peter White to name a few. Craig's signature "clean, crisp" acostic sound permiates every track. What we hear here is a seasoned veteran of guitar with many influences. My personal favorite is "Lights Out In San Francisco." I can't wait to hear what's next!

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant musician, expressive and original!, September 17, 2005
This review is from: Once in a Blue Universe (Audio CD)
Craig Chaquico proves his immense talents are not a simple market product. He is fully enraptured, molding and conferring in every piece he plays a special profile character and personality.

His version of the famous theme Holding back the years is without doubt, the jewel of the crown. There are other successful tracks such as Blue Universe, Lights out San Francisco, Dream catcher and Midnight swim.

A winner album for enjoying, dreaming, relaxation and delighting.

Perfect for those romantic dinners with a significant other (or would like to be)! This is definately a "must have" for anyone who likes jazz/new age guitar.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is one of the best cds i've heard in a long time, August 8, 1999

This cd is great, its is some of the smoothest jazz there is, I use it for my romantic dinners and to relax from a hard day at work.

Hey Craig if your going to be near here please let me know I would love to see you in concert.

Thanks for all the Jazz

I absolutely love this CD! I love listening to it in my studio. It just seems to help the ideas just flow through me. My ideas seem to come to me much more naturally when I listen to this CD.

Good CD but not one of my favorites...if you are in the market for a Craig Chaquico CD, go for "Best Of." This is not one I will make a priorty to listen to, but it's okay. I think even the sound quality on the Best Of CD is better.

Ex-Jefferson Starship guitarist, Craig Chaquico is a master. Once In A Blue Universe is a collection of smooth jazz songs that will definately take your worrys away and trasport you to a new level of conciousness. Magical.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hidden tracks, June 13, 2004

This is a beautiful CD. Nicely textured and very relaxing. The hidden tracks 11-13 are repeats of other tracks on the CD. They are different in length from the first but I could not say what else makes them different.

This is a great recording, and a good comeback after his third album, which I thought was a little weak. What is with these hidden tracks, though? Amazon lists three hidden tracks, and as far as I know, they aren't on my CD!

4.0 out of 5 stars Another fine release, November 7, 1999

Again (Chaquico) starts off on the right track, with the wonderfully catchy "Midnight Swim". Just the perfect tune to unwind after a hard day at the office.
