5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite romance of all time!!
Once More Miranda is the best romance ever written. I have lost track of how many times I have read this..and I know that I will read it many many more times in the future. Anyone who reads this book is transformed by Miranda..and never forgets her.

versus
1.0 out of 5 stars I hated it.
I couldn't finish this. It was one of those "bodice rippers". The characters weren't developed and were very shallow. Miranda's hero was a self-absorbed bully who didn't show any concern for her feelings, and who had a history of bullying all women who worked for him. He practically raped her the first time he "took" her. The plot might have turned out okay, but I...

5.0 out of 5 stars Just a Little Bit of History Repeating Itself...., April 8, 2000
Should you ever want to sample a little bit of every writer and author of any consequence in American and English literature, I would readily suggest, "Once More, Miranda." At the turn of every page, we happen upon either a historic character, such as Samuel Johnson, the brilliant but unruly and outspoken author of the first Dictionary of the English Language, or a style of writing long since abandoned in this day of pulp romance and penny-ante horror: classical Dickens abounds through out the story, and perhaps if you look hard enough you can find the clever placement of Chauncer and Thomas Moore as well. The characters are wonderful and witty, the story line is refreshing while being delightfully classic. This is one story, once started, that one simutaneously can not put down while wishing it would never end. Bravo to Ms. Wilde for this wonderful novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like no other, June 5, 1999
This review is from: Once More, Miranda (Mass Market Paperback)
Despite the fact that it gives the impression that it is just another romance novel, Once More Miranda is a book like no other. I have read the book about 10 times during the late 80's, to early 90's. It's just that readable. I lost my copy in 1992 but hope to find another soon. I highly recommend to everyone who loves romance, historical romance, history or drama novels to read this one. It will touch your soul and you will never forget it.

5.0 out of 5 stars cant stop thinkig of this book, December 11, 2003

This review is from: Once More, Miranda (Mass Market Paperback)
I have read this book over and over again. This book has made me hurt inside with the feelings and the action between Miranda and Cam.Days after reading the book Im still crying and thinking of their love.It would be a great book to read if you like history, love and action. All I have to say is thank god it ends happy. After reading this book I have to hide it because it hurts to much to not be in Cams and Miranda's relationship.I guess sooner or later I have to let it go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book about a Writer, November 16, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Once More, Miranda (Mass Market Paperback)
This is one of the most unique books I've ever read. I have never personally had the courage to attempt to write about a writer, but Wilde does it masterfully. Miranda endures a very difficult childhood as a pickpocket, and finds herself in the arms of Cam Gordon, a man whose pocket she attempted to pick. Through him she discovers her passion for the pen. Cam goes into a rage of jealousy when he discovers how amazing her work is, and the events that follow are unlike anything I've ever read in a romance. It was thoroughly amazing, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves historical romances!

5.0 out of 5 stars VERY ENTERTAINING AND EMOTIONAL,, May 6, 2006
This review is from: Once More, Miranda (Paperback)
THIS IS THE ONE OF THE BEST NOVELS I HAVE EVER READ. IT'S HARD TO IMAGINE HOW DIFFICULT IT WOULD BE TO GROW UP ON THE STREETS OF 18TH CENTURY LONDON. MIRANDA DID IT AND BECAME A FAMOUS/NOTORIUS FEMALE WRITER. SHE EVEN SAVED HER LOVER FROM A DANGEROUS PLOT WHICH HE LATER BLAMES HER FOR AND DUMPS HER. YET SHE STILL SURVIVES...

The excellent story of Miranda James, a wildcat and pickpocket who lived on the 18th century London streets. But when fate intervenes, Miranda is thrown together with writer, Cameron Gordon, bounded by law which starts a fiery relationship! This is one book you want to read and re-read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, October 17, 2010
This review is from: Once More, Miranda (Paperback)
Let's put it this way, I have two copies of this book because I read the first one so many times the binding broke. The romance is good (not great it was written in 1983, so our hero is a touch to brooding, yet very sexy) but the historical accuracy in amazing. I've read several non-fiction books about the 1700's and was amazed at how this author perfectly portrayed the times. While a romance, the story is more about how Miranda matures and learns to respect herself, which even after reading it countless times I find refreshing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Named after it!, December 6, 2008
This review is from: Once More, Miranda (Mass Market Paperback)
My mother once told me I was named after the Miranda in this book, so I had to read it. I couldn't put it down once I started and I now realize why I was named after this particular fictional character. She's just amazing like that.
