I love the music from this movie, and I'm glad to have this book. I do have a pretty major complaint, though. The music seems to be untrue to the actual instrumentation of the songs. A bunch of the songs such as Gold and Say it to me Now are in Open E tuning, and the book just gives standard tuning chords. It's really frustrating on When Your Mind's Made Up, because you can tell the chord diagrams are different from what he's playing in the movie. Anyway, if you want to play this stuff with a pianist, its probably a good buy, but its not super helpful for the guitar parts.

Once is an entertaining movie filled with great original piano and guitar music, and this book of sheet music is the perfect way to recreate the tunes yourself. High quality and easy to read, my wife can play the piano and I can still see the type well enough to play guitar standing behind the bench. If you like the music from the movie, then this sheet music is well worth the purchase price.

First, I primarily play the piano so this review is from that perspective. The arrangements are excellent and very close to what Marketa Irglova plays. The msuic has not been dumbed down at all which is nice when the original is such pretty music, especially with The Hill. I've picked out a few of the guitar parts but can't really review that as I'm such a novice guitarist. Hopefully Swell Season has more books in store for us with their Strict Joy release.

the soundtrack is the thing you can't forget when you watch this film! if you're looking for the piano sheets and for the right tablatures of the songs, these music sheets are perfect. easy to play and clear. and if you've got someone to sing with, it's easy to learn and follow all the second voices of the songs. enjoy!

Just what I was looking for. Love this collection and even a not great pianist can play it.

I was pleased with the product overall. If your intention is to recreate the songs exactly as they were played in the film, this product is not for you. It is a simplified version of each song so that a duet can be played by the amateur, SKILLED musician. Even though this is simplified, it is not for beginners. To give you an idea, you should know most of your chords and be able to read the music fluently.

I bought this to play Falling Slowly on my guitar with my 9 year old daughter on piano. It has the guitar chords/notes, lyrics and the piano notes. What I like the most is that it has all the songs from the movie. It meets all my expectations.

'Once' was a great movie. And I think that most people will agree that the best part of the movie was the music. So, naturally, I was excited when I saw this songbook was available, and quickly ordered it.

This book was everything I could have wanted. I mostly play piano, and all the songs that I played out of the book sounded very faithful to the songs on the soundtrack, which I also purchased. I especially love that the songs are relatively easy, piano-wise, so you can quickly get to a point where you can sing along.

All together, a GREAT buy for anyone who loved the music from the movie.

A CLASSIC for guitar players and lovers of non-traditional love stories. You won't be able to get the tunes out of your head. I bought the DVD, CD and sheet music from Amazon. I recommend you do the same.
