Great song choices by a wonderful singer make this cd a good addition to anyone's collection. The only problem with it, other than no liner notes, and no dates of recordings, was the sound quality. There was a lot of scratchy sound for a Jo Stafford cd. Usually the sound quality is better on the compilations that I have. I have never heard of the company putting this cd out, so maybe they don't do a lot. The songs were a good choice and not found on a lot of other compilations and I liked that. If you don't mind the slight scratchiness, then this is a really great cd to have in your oldies collection.

Sound quality awful. Why Won't Sony or Corinthian Records release this officially. Great album and love the original artwork.

I'm a big fan,but this was a huge let down! The music left a lot to be desired. It did sort of sound like a bootleg. Don't buy.

I'm a big fan of the Pied Pipers era Jo Stafford, but also like her solo work. I was excited to find this album on CD, since the tracks are all wonderful 'standards'. The first thing that bugs me, that didn't stand out when I gave it a quick listen on Amazon, is the orchestration. It's good, but there's something very 'dated' about it. I'm no musician, but I'm pretty sure I'm hearing an accordion on every track. That sound conjures up late 60's lounge, which I guess this kind of is. The other problem is, as a previous reviewer stated, the sound quality. It is clearly mastered from vinyl, which is fine since the original masters are probably long gone. It is something buyers should be aware of though. If you're listening with headphones, it's really evident. I'll play it often, but not as often as I would if it didn't have that bloody accordion accompanying every track!

This Cd of Jo Stafford was an excellent choice with a good selection of songs.It came in excellent condition well packed & the delivery time was good.I was very pleased with the service from Amazon.I will be visiting your website again shortly.
