First, I would like to say this is a terrific musical and the music is just beautiful. It's a joy to see and a joy to perform. This book, however, falls short. Not only is it missing many important songs, the key in which the songs are written has been changed. This is problematic if you are purchasing the book to learn a piece for an audition. Rehearsing a song in one key and then discovering when you are standing up there in front of an audition committee that what you practiced at home was a whole step lower than the way it is written in the full score isn't pleasant. Considering how low the entire show is to begin with, there was absolutely no reason to do this.

Once On This Island is a fabulous show! It may seem different in the beginning, but if you really read into the story and hear the music it'll send chills up your spine! This music has so much spirit and warmth behind it! I played "Asaka, Mother of the Earth" last summer, and I looved it! BUY THIS BOOK!

i was in a class musical and i fell in love wiht the music from the play Once on This Island, months later i decided to get this book just so i could sing the songs, it has all of the famous (favourite) songs, waiting for life (a stranger in white), walk with me, and others. the only thing i found wrong was soe of the notes sounded different than on the cd. but oh well, nothing is perfect, they are great songs, very catchy, buy the book. :) -kara

This is a Great Book to go along with a Amazing Musical.Ive also read My Love, My Love and its just a great story.I performed in this show as "Papa Ge" and among my other roles of Harold Hill(Music Man), The Baker( Into The Woods),Sweeney Todd(Demon Barber of Fleet Street) Charlie Brown (Your A Good Man Charlie Brown) The BEast(Beauty Adn Teh BEast) and Judas(Jesus Christ Superstar), Papa Ge was my second favorite character to play.His Vocal Section in the production have so much feeling and emotion that will make the Audience tingle.LEANR THE SONGS FROM THIS SHOW NOW!! BUY THIS BOOK!

even if you hear the music a thousand times, which i have you still wanna hear cause its catchy

Though I don't actually have the book, i have seen it. It is amazing!... This is my favorite musical. My highschool did it two years ago and everyone absolutely loved it. It's awesome, and it comes away from comformaty. BUY IT!... it is SO awesome.
