Unlike BH&G, Leisure Arts seems to fade in and fade out when doing their annual Christmas edition. This 1996 book is one of the rare Very Good Ones! Usually I find that they like to focus on large themed pictures in a variety of antique-y, mute colors but this edition features pieces with more flavor. The "Old-timey" theme is essentially unchanged but the editor must have been because the color is enhanced and the characters seem to jump off the page. In addition the range of motifs has been expanded to include traditional Scandinavian Red Work, Noah's Ark, Stockings, Pillows, a large variety of Ornaments and a gorgeous Christmas Tree that takes up four full squares of a lovely blanket. There's teddy's, and toys, sledding and snowmen, gingermen fellows, and a Nativity glowing. In essence, this book is like Christmas itself for us to stitch and enjoy all year long.

The book is photographed with the usual high quality and the charts are in color and great. However, I only gave it 3 stars because it has mostly Santa's and shown in mostly framed wall hangings. In books edited later you really get to see many more uses such as ornaments, blankets or gifts and for more varied topics.
