Frozen Poetry,

Once Upon Ice is full of gorgeous photographs and delightful poetry. Every winter, I use this book with my 5th grade class. I ask them what they "see" in the photographs and then share what the poet "sees". This book is great for inspiring my students to use figurative language, personification, and imagery in their own writing!
