We are using the BOY version. There is also this wonderful GIRL version available. This extraordinary, beautiful gift box, holds THE perfect potty! It seems to be an improvement on the design these guys used in the great "Once Upon a Potty" videos. The potty looks simple, but when you use it, you realize the thought and care invested in it. The big, comfortable inside seating size alone is worth everything, especially if your child is a bit big: a deep 8"x4.5" inches inside is one of the largest, if not THE largest available anywhere. No other company makes something as intuitive and enjoyable to use. Safe and easy to clean too.

Finally a 1-piece, no nonsense mold! Our kid already "takes care of it", feels it is his, moves it around, and loves using it, while reading the book and singing "The Potty Song". The JOSHUA-BOY label ours has is excellent, looks like part of the plastic, and will never come off! The handles on the gift box made it extra easy to carry. I since bought two PRUDENCE-GIRL ones as presents for baby showers! It's never too early to be ready with something as good as this "Once Upon a Potty" potty. BRAVO!

This potty is very appropriate for little one. I used to use this type in another country for my daughter 7years before. But after I came in usa ,I asked everybody about a useful potty and almost people told me to buy 3 in one type. I bought that one and the very next day I returned. Its not comfy for babies. I started potty training for my kids when they were six months. This potty is very secure. They won't slip . Kid,s legs will be locked after they sat on this potty,because of its curve shape.I love this potty and I will refer this to every parents....

This worked great for us - we didn't have the problems of some of the other reviewers. My daughter was 3 years and a few months, and had some anxiety about using the potty. We had 2 other potty chairs, but if I took her diaper off, she just held it until she cried from a belly ache. She wouldn't pee until I put a diaper on her. We got this in the mail, she sat and used it immediately. (She had no interest or use for the little book, though). She was completely trained within two days (probably because she had such great bladder control from holding it all day until mommy put a diaper on her!) Now, at 3 1/2, she still uses it. She gets her pants down and goes by herself. We don't have to take her pants all the way off, and even though she is a tall three year old, she fits comfortably, her knees aren't too high. The only thing is since there isn't a reservoir to remove, you dump it out the side, and have to wipe the whole thing off every time. But the potty is small and all one piece, it isn't that big a deal, and any potty you get you have to clean some way.

Now, if only we could get her transitioned to the toilet! We have an insert that works fine, but she likes being able to carry to potty to where ever the family is to go. She's a social pottier.

I bought this seat based on the excellent user reviews it received and when it arrived, I can see why the reviewers liked it. The design is simple, easy to use, easy to clean. However, the seat was actually too SHORT for my taller than average daughter (who is 37"). Her knees were up to her shoulders. Part of this is no doubt due to the way the splash guard makes the child sit on the seat (legs angled to the side). This is no way a negative review, just a bit of info to help you make your decision. By the way, we ended up using the Baby Bjorn potty seat that fits on top of a regular toilet, with a Kids II step stool to help her get up by herself.

I have boy/girl twins who will be turning 3 years old in a couple of weeks. I thought it was time to seriously potty train and did not want to use potty chairs. I bought the "cushie tushie" insert 8 months ago and the kids had no trouble sitting on it, but would never show an interest in using it consistently. I bought the "Joshua" potty only to see if the kids would even use it. The very first day, they both went pee on this potty chair! I couldn't believe it! They were excited about this chair since we had been reading the books and watching the video. It was familiar to them so they were willing to use it. We immediately went out and bought the "Prudence" chair for my daughter because my son insisted that the "Joshua" chair was his. The chairs are exactly the same but have different stickers on the front. The kids know which chair is theirs, and they love going potty. After one week, my kids are potty trained! The only problem I may have is transitioning them to the regular toilet, but now that they are comfortable with "going to the bathroom", they put the "cushie tushie" on and use it instead sometimes. They LOVE their potty chairs!

So it turns out that the secret is fun for everybody concerned - no stress, no crying, no anger. This works brilliantly and the book is great - altogether a wonderful discovery, don't hesitate to get it.

Who else combines potty training and foreign language education like Once Upon a Potty. Translated in as many languages as the complete works of Shakespeare AND you can order the companion dolls!

This was the third potty we tried and by far the best--very simple, sturdy, and a comfortable, wide seat. Be aware that there is no difference between the girl and boy version except for the book it comes with and the picture on the front of the potty (which doesn't show any particulars anyway!). It is, in my opinion, overpriced, but the best we've found in terms of comfort and simplicity.

Who would have thought it would take me months to find the simple one piece potties of my childhood? I was discouraged with every single review I read, until I found this one. It received great reviews, so I decided to pay the higher price. My daughter has just turned 2, and I have been taking to her about a potty for months (while I was looking for one), she was really excited to get one. She sat on it immediately, and was using it within the first 3 min! We have had it for 2 days, and she is continuing to use it regularly.

I like that it is one piece. It is very light, so my dd can move it around. The flared base makes it seem stable, although I still worry she will tip it over as she plays with it when it is full. The child has to be completely bottomless to use it - they can't just pull the pants down and sit on it. I don't know whether that will be a problem later when time matters. My dd also holds the back and mounts it backwards. It is harder to sit down on it correctly without an adult's help. I wish it was molded so that sitting backwards was just as comfortable as sitting on it the right way.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this potty, though if it were up to me, I would have changed the design slightly.

I potty trained from "birth" and used the baby bjorn little potty seat til about 8 months when she just got too big for it. We went to babys r us and sat on every seat they had. She and I both liked this one best because her feet could touch the floor, but it was bigger than the bjorn so her body could relax while she went. The book that comes with it is one of her favorites and she likes to mimic "Prudence' the little girl from the book. She is now 1 1/2 years old, and truly loves this potty-I will someday have to wean her from it, but for now she lets me know when she needs to go, she sits and reads, and then brings me the results. What a great product this has been! We are buying four more for friends and family and the car.
