When I started watching this movie I had no idea of what I was getting into! It is definitely out of the ordinary! Very powerful and the soundtrack is amazing! I got the movie as a gift and bought the soundtrack immediately after I saw it! If you like irish folk music you're going to love this movie.

A total revelation. Set in Dublin two unnamed musicians find each other on the streets and a sweet collaboration occurs with his songs and her conviction in the power of his music. Both have people in their past that they still have feelings for and this the source for the power of the amazing music and their bitter-sweet relationship. Great rental through Tivo-Unbox.

This movie was a great surprise.....we (my husband and I) figured it would be a cute little indie flick, but it was much more powerful because the music actually TELLS the story. It's not just the story of two people, it's also the story of the evolving songwriter and music transforms their relationship. My husband is a musician and songwriter and was absolutely blown away by the music, it was so simple but powerful and emotional. It's one of those movies that you'll watch and when it's over you'll look at each other and say "Wow, let's watch that again"....and then you'll go to Itunes and buy the soundtrack....it's fabulous. WATCH THIS MOVIE.

While on a trans Atlantic flight returning from Ireland I came across this movie. Having just been to the emerald isle and a lot of time to view I decided to check out this film that I had never heard of. What a pleasant surprise to find "real" artists playing real musicians. A true little gem!

This movie is no fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat ride, but it's sweet and warm and enjoyable and the music is incredible. Definitely a chick flick; don't subject your poor boyfriend to watching it.

When I saw that this movie was described as a musical I was not expecting to enjoy it. But because it was filmed in Dublin I agreed to watch it with my wife. Never judge a book by its cover, nor a DVD by the blurb written on the sleeve. This movie scales heights that are rarely found in any musical. Not only is it a plausible unconsummated love story but the songs and their music will delight even the hardest heart. I went out and bought the Collector's Edition soundtrack the next day. Don't miss out on this - buy it, rent it, steal it if you must, but see it and listen to it. Be amazed.

Once is a simple, lovely movie set in Dublin that soars thanks to the outstanding music. Being an Irish film, it isn't your typical guy meets girl movie - therein the charm. The film literally sings of love, confusion and hope. Since watching the film I can't get E. M. Forster's words "Only connect..." out of my head.

After watching the film you will probably want to find more of the amazing music by The Frames and Glen Hansard - you know where to find it. There is an excellent interview/live set available online with Glen Hansard and The Frames which was done by the incomparable David Dye at WXPN's World Cafe Live in Philly last May.

Fantasic, beautiful movie with great music. If you are looking for automatic weapons, this movie is not for you. This movie is about music and relationships.

There's no other word for this movie except fantastic! I would put it up against any of the top releases. So moving! It is a must see!

Lovely, honest, and human. A beautiful little flick. The music is not my favorite style but you can't help but be moved by the passion with which it is delivered. Watch it.
