Worth a listen.,

Overall this is a worthwhile CD. I have both the CD and the video. The video has Burt giving insight into the songs and artists before each. If you are going to buy just one, get the video. As for the songs, I skip over Mike Meyers, it is really not my style, not funny at all.Sheryl Crow is very good and Bare Naked Ladies. The highlights for me are Dionne and Wynonna. If you don't have chill listening to "Anyone who had a Heart", wow, what a song and what a voice...

Dazzling versions of some of his best songs!,

As a boy, my Dad would take me on a 2 hour trip to our small boat on a lake in Georgia. And he always had to have music playing with it often the sounds of Burt Bacharach or other contemporaries. I certainly fell hard for many of bacharach's songs and was delighted to catch the video performance on PBS of this resulting CD. In particular, while not much of a country music fan, I was speechless during Wynonna's version of "Anyone Who Has A Heart". A couple of listens is all it takes. Plus the outstanding version of Elvis Costello's "God Give Me Strength". "Close to you" by Barenaked ladies and the other artists are truly wonderful versions! Well worth the purchase, dear reader!

A master arranger and composer allows many new, established and talented stars to interpret his great work. All of Bacharach's classic tunes are included by artists who put new twists on the arrangements. Luther Vandross, Wynona, Sheryl Crow are all wonderful. Even Mike Myers does a splendid job putting a fun twist on What's New Pussycat. The medley of Dionne Warwick singing the classic tunes she made hits in the 60s can be listened to over and over. If you're a Bacharach fan, get this CD!
