Las Vegas area Patrol officers responded to a radio call regarding a convenience store robbery where four people have been brutally slain.

Store surveillance tape-recorded the robbery and shootings.

The motive for the shooting may have been robbery, however, that aspect of the case remains under investigation, while crime scene and forensics personnel are called out to process the scene.

Assigned to the case are long time veteran of the Metro Homicide Force, Steve Garneau and his younger partner of two years, Terry Bolton.

Once detectives review the surveillance tape, the identity of the shooter is uncovered, a man identified only as a cold-blooded killer and dubbed: "One Armed Bandit."

Clues provided by the surveillance tape immediately show that robbery was not the motive and detectives move quickly to solve the case to keep from losing track of the killer.

Within several weeks of the murders one-by-one suspects are grilled for information, as the motive begins to unfold. News of scandalous and incriminating evidence, as well as conspirator names are revealed, leading detectives closer to the murderer.

Author, Dennis Griffin grabs reader's attention from page one with descriptive details as the murders occur. The suspense surrounding the victims, as well as surprises keep readers on the edge.

ONE-ARMED BANDIT is a suspense filled mystery. From cover to cover, it holds a reader's interest. Exactly what was behind the killing of four seemingly innocent convenience store customers? They all went in to make purchases and the surveillance tape shows a one-armed thief gunned them down. But, was robbery the motive? Or was there an invisible thread that tied Julio Cortez, Candy Kauffman, Steve Knight and Jimmy Eagan together; other than their deaths? The murders were so heinous the coroner's investigator said, "It's the worst one I've been to, and I've seen a lot of them over the years." And exactly who is the man with one arm? He certainly had super skills to off four people without being stopped. We can speculate throughout the novel, but Detective Steve Garneau and his female partner, Terry Bolton must determine exactly what transpired. You'll be surprised as it enfolds. The author, Dennis Griffin, has investigative tactics down to a science. This book is begging for a sequel. How about it, Dennis? Are you going to treat us to another? This reader hopes so!

If you enjoy great mystery novels, Dennis Griffin's latest book is a must read. It is filled with surprises, colorful characters and has a great surprise ending. I highly recommend it.

An excellently written murder mystery about a one-armed killer who stalks Las Vegas. Realistic and brutal, this page turner has the makings of a true thriller. It is obvious that the author knows what he is talking about in the language and procedures of police investigative work. His style is fresh, compelling and alive. In the ranks of numerous stories of this tried and true genre, this book is right up there as one of the best.

Dennis Griffin never disappoints. Every book he writes outshines the last, which is not an easy task.
I hope he keeps on writing. I'm becoming addicted!
