Fun, creative, a True Delight!,

This review is from: One Boy (Hardcover)
Our two and half year old loves this book and it's been a favorite of my wife an I too. Each page has a clever cutout over the picture, which when turned reveals some fanciful addition to what the subject is. Example: 3 Apes, (you see their heads mostly) then turns to Big Escape, in which you see they happily got out of their cage. Each picture and number up to ten goes like this and all are quite fun for everyone. Beautiful production and printing quality too.

Learning to read and count at the same time in one book for one boy,

This was an amazing book. I am teaching my grand son to read/count and learn English all in one book. Pictures are very good, all very memorable. Peek-a-boo aspect of the book appeals to the children. It is a real page turner for young children. Highly recommended.

One Boy,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: One Boy (Hardcover)
One Boy is a great book for children and adults of all ages. One Boy is very simple but the way the illustrations are put down looks great. For example, for the number one it says one boy and when you turn the page it says all alone and the picture extends. Most of the pictures are animals. I would definitely recommend this book to children and adults.

Works even for those children who have outgrown the 'counting phase',
By utbtkids "utbtkids" (San Jose) - See all my reviews
This review is from: One Boy (Hardcover)
Having two kids 18 months apart, my challenge is to find books that works well with both ages. I want to challenge my older one, while make the younger one participate without feeling inadequate. Few books like One Boy, appeals to them both.
While it functions as a basic counting book for my younger one, the clever windows in the book show how one word can be a part of another for my older one. For example we see ONE on one page and when we turn the page, the window on the next page shows how ONE is a part of the word ALONE. So it is ONE BOY...ALL ALONE. So even before she turned the pages, my older one was guessing what new word can be formed from this give word. Fun book.

I really like this book. I picked it up at the library and pretty much in 1 sitting my son, who is 3-1/2 could read along with me. In fact, he was so excited that he could read it, he wanted to bring it into his preschool class to show the other children that he could read. This book not only incorporates site reading, but also math and counting. I liked it so much, I purchased a copy for myself.

My son is a little slow on the counting uptake and this book made it fun and interesting enough for him to _want_ to do it!
Thanks!

The awesomest book I've read,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: One Boy (Hardcover)
One Boy is a good book because you can guess what comes next. And everything is outlined with a box and then the whole picture on the next page. And they go in numerical order with really detailed pictures. All the pitchers have outlines on the outside. And there is a boy that paints all the pictures.

The awesomest book ever,
A Kid's Review

I love the book One Boy because it is good for kids and because the pictures are not that well detailed but it goes with the book. I think the book is for 9 year old boys.
