I was a little disappointed...,

Do not get me wrong, Maureen Smith is a fantastic writer but I felt that something was missing in this particular book. The first series in this book with Garrison and Imani's story, With Every Breath (Arabesque), is the best. Mrs. Smith did a wonderful job with combining romance and suspense. The suspense side of this story was great but I wanted Mrs. Smith to spend more time on the romance. I was half way through the book and was thinking, "what's going on between Damien and Althea?' I felt that their romance was passive and not faced head on.

Kidnapped!,
This review is from: No One But You (Paperback)
Althea Pritchard is home after eight long years. Eight years ago, Althea was kidnapped and held for 30 days before she escaped. Althea vowed never to be a victim again. She quit medical school and joined the FBI. After 3 years with the bureau, she gets a transfer home. The day she returns, the daughter of a millionaire is kidnapped a lot like she had been. The similarities were unnerving. Upon returning home, she also let loose and had a one night stand with an amazing man she was never going to see again. Special Agent Damien Wade is devoted to his job and his 11-year-old daughter. When he is drawn to a beautiful woman he meets in a club, he has a one night stand with an amazing woman he is never going to see again. Reporting for duty, Althea is going to see her superior when she collides with Mr. One Night Stand.
No One But You is amazing. A perfect coupling of a romance and a suspense thriller. There are several plots and subplots that have you turning page after page. Smith does an excellent job of painting the scenario and leaving clues. She knows exactly when to introduce another "suspect" and more details. No One But You is a great "who done it" with the right amount of red hot romance. Reviewed by Tenecia for Urban Reviews

suspense novel with a hint of romance,

This is really a suspense novel with a hint of romance, which is SO not my thing. I wanted to see the relationship of the main characters develop more. Instead, I got a ton of information that I'm sure makes a great suspense novel worth the money. However, I wasn't looking for that, so this novel was NOT worth the money. The two or three love scenes were HOT, but there still weren't enough to make this a romance noel. Now, I'm timid about purchasing anything else by this author. I want to be sure a novel labeled ROMANCE truly is a romance!

I've read just about all of her books but this started out hot then the romance stopped until the last pages of the book. Great suspense but there should have been just a little more romance. It was a good book but not great in the romance department. Should be labeled as suspense based off the great characters and unpredictable outcome.

Nobody can do romantic suspense like Maureen Smith. This book was really good. I literally could not put it down at one point, because I was so curious about who the bad guy was; it's never the obvious person, so I suspected just about everyone - and never considered the person who turned out to be the bad guy (what a surprise!). The action took place in my neck of the woods, which made the book even more appealing to me.Loved, loved, loved that fine Damien Wade. Other reviewers have been correct in saying that there wasn't much romance in this book, but Damien and Althea really clicked; they worked well togther and when they came together, the scenes were H-O-T! Great job as usual, Ms. Smith. Please keep the good books coming!

Even though this book is supposedly a romance, and it was just 20% romance and 80% suspense I enjoyed it to the fullest. A litte more romace could have been added but I enjoyed it none the less.

I love, love, Maureen Smith's work. This one didn't cut it for me
because I prefer Romance novels. If you like Mystery and Suspense, you will like this book. Otherwise, you might find yourself reading the pages to get it over with.

This book is such a page turner! I read it from cover to cover in one day. It has a great suspense line to it and amazingly also a romantic love story too. It was definitely worth reading and I enjoyed it very much.

Dangerous Romance,
This review is from: No One But You (Paperback)
No One But You is the first title I've read by Maureen Smith. And I must say I was not disappointed. This mystery romance had me turning page after page wanting to know what was going to happen next. I absolutely loved the interaction between Althea and Damien both professionally and romantically. Reading their story, I can honestly say I now see how folks in law enforcement end up dating, falling in love and marrying. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more by this author.
