Product Description

This cheese is manufactured at the Bega plant in Bega, Australia. The people at Bega Cheese, have been making cheese since 1899, and have found a way to put great tasting, real cheddar cheese in a can. This product has a natural cream color, medium cheddar flavor and pleasing texture. It's easy to cut, grate and slice and it's delicious. There's no expiration date on this cheese and stays good for an incredibly long time 15+ years. It's packaged in Australia for folks who don't have refrigeration, like many outdoorsmen, survivalists and campers. Gourmet cheeses are aged in cellars for years to enhance their flavor; since this canned cheddar cheese is sealed in a sterile environment, there's no reason that it can't be stored and used indefinitely. Just keep it reasonably cool, protect it from freezing as with any other cheese, and safeguard the cans from outside moisture that could cause external rust-through.

I ordered one can of this cheese (from somewhere else) just to try it. WOW! it tastes better than any Kraft cheese (that I buy all the time). Texture was great. I opened the can at both ends, and pushed the cheese out of the can and sliced off 4 pieces. Three people were standing around when I opened it. Everybody agreed that little can of cheese tasted great. I'm here to buy more for my food storage and maybe some for now

After a long day of fighting road warriors, I like to pop open a can of this and put a slice on anything edible I can get my hands on. It really improves the taste of most foods, or non food items, I try it on. Before the CHUDS came, I remember buying Queso Blanco Velveeta with my mom, this cheese tastes kind of like that but with less of the processed taste. It melts well too. I am really glad I bought a few cases from amazon.com back in college before the internet went dark; my roommates laughed at me, but who is laughing now? I am enjoying real cheese on a dried lizard and they are tied to the front of a dune buggy in the desert.

I will be honest, I had rather low expectations for this product, but was I ever pleasantly surprised! This is a really decent cheese. Mild cheddar flavor, melts very nicely, and holds it's own on cracker, or makes a really good grilled cheese sandwich. I will have a case of this on hand at all times.

I ordered a full case (36 cans). G&R foods shipped the cheese. Good job packaging, fast delivery, all cans in good condition. This is delicious cheese, on the mild side, soft like processed cheese should be. The flavor is very pleasing. You will not be disappointed with this cheese. And this is a good addition to food storage in general with long lasting shelve life. I served some to friends of mine and all commented on how delicious the cheese was and surprised that canned cheese could taste so good.

This is good cheese, about halfway between American and a moderately sharp cheddar. The cans were well packed and suffered no damage which increases their longevity.

Every two or three years I rotate out my earthquake closet (California). While looking for staples and canned goods to restock from, I accidentally came across this canned cheese. Well worth the price. It is basically an American tasting cheese but very solid, from Australia to boot! If you've got some crackers, one can will easily take care of an entire box or sleeve of them. Slice thin because this cheese has good flavor. You won't need a big serving. Not like that sliced stuff, not soft or squishy. A case seems expensive, but if you break it down, the price was fair. I highly recommend this product, and the seller shipped quickly. 5 stars easily.

I bought a case of this not having tried it before, I'm so glad I did. My husband was skeptical about the idea of canned cheese, but as soon as we got it in the mail we opened a can to try. It's great sliced up and put on crackers. It has the texture of harvati cheese (soft and creamy) and the flavor of a mild cheddar. It is firm enough to cut and shreds easily. I heated some up in the microwave to see if it melts and it did, so I'm excited to try it in some cooked recipes. My Husband and kids all like it.

Just bought some of the Bega canned cheese from Australia. I got it for long term storage. (It lasts for 10-15 years, if stored properly). Opened a can and tried it. It tastes great! Kind of like a cross between cheddar/American cheese. Just ate with crackers and didn't try melting it but I bet it will work great with mac and cheese or on scrambled eggs.
